Hey DC,
We've been doing these midweek runs off and on for a couple of months. We usually meet up at 7:00 somewhere off of I-90, and its usually pretty mild offroading for the most part. We try to get back to the parking lot to air up by ~10:00 PM. Makes for a late night if you've got to travel any distance. I've seen your thread for Evans, might be able to make it if my schedule works out.

I was actually finally going to make the two hour journey over there for the next run if the engine noise ive been hearing was as simple as I figured. I figured it was my fan clutch going out due to a rough bearing noise in the front end. I took my fan clutch off today and ran it EXPECTING a purr. I got the same sound so now I know its within the timing cover jungle. It seems to run good with lots of power but I dont want to gamble on making it for that run. I actually had the day off you guys were going on and figured I might actually make it. Oh well, maybe another time. Hope you guys have fun. Ben

I wish!
I have an appointment on Wednesday with my Runners doctor. I think I already said this but I took the clutch fan off today thinking that was the noise ive been hearing but its not. So the shop I had do my timing belt thinks it could be a defective timing pulley and said to bring it in on Wednesday. If he gets it done in time I will haul a$$ over to play. I have Blue all decked out. Tonight when I got off work I stopped to help a guy with a flat tire and a cop stopped to say nice rig and said it looks like a real offroading rig. I was impressed, hes cool. If it is done in time trust me im on it. I wont ask for directions though yet being I dont want to get my hopes up. I hate that, you start thinking of all the stuff to do and brag about it then BLAM not gonna go. I will plan on not going so if I dont then no biggy. I will let you guys know on Wednesday. Damn im getting excited just talking about not going. LOL.

Man, I've got a rattle in the back end that I wish I knew what was causing it as well.
I was thinking about taking some people over to "the climb" at Tinkham, for lack of any other ideas, but am open to suggestions. What's further up the pass?

I mentioned this in the other thread, but I see we have moved over here... so...
I AM going wheeling Wednesday evening. I will be bringing along a new guy (not new-bie) to these weekday events. He's a WATTORA member and all around good guy.
My default plan is to take him up Tinkham and let him pound his head against "the climb", since he is unlocked and all, but in the event that you folks come up with something more entertaining, I might be talked into throwing in with your run. Otherwise, I would be happy to have your company along with us.

One of these days I'll have to explore Tinkham.
I use to take my '90 truck up there at the West entance and check out the campground, and a few of the side roads there back in the early '90s.
Hey, further up at Lake Easton state park, is there any exploring of trails up that way?
I use to camp a lot at that state park from the mid '80 to early '90s.
That might be something to look into sometime.
Nice state park to stay at with showers if there are trails nearby.
Well this is getting OT here, but that might be worth looking into someday, plus you can reserve spots at the state park.

Well, there are a couple people who haven't tried "the climb" yet who might want to give it a shot, and others who may be trying to exact their revenge on an old foe.... The tank trap is fun as well. The advantage of Tinkham is its a known factor, we know there are a couple of fun obstacles. We could go exploring somewhere new, but may end up being mostly F.S. riding without too much excitement. So, I'm all up for doing Tinkham again. The usual, meet at 7:00PM, if not earlier, to air down, etc.
