Snow Update: There's PLENTY

Not as much as their should be in the middle of January, but more than enough to make the trip a kick

The first pictures are at; http://www.watrd.com/20030119 and as soon as the real photographers who were on the run get me theirs, I will be posting them to the WATTORA website.

The trails varied from bare but wet to 2+ feet of snow. I only had to break out the winch once and that was more due to our trying to get fancy in parking too many rigs in too little space than it was to anything the driver did. Also, I got distracted for a split second and managed to drive off the road into a ditch, into a three foot deep drift, but nobody saw it and with both lockers engaged I backed right back onto the road.

Gibby, I guess you just got unlucky in this one.

Great pics Rob.
Looking forward to some more.

Was this the same area up around 74?

Thanks!

We covered Haller Pass, Steamboat Rock, Lonesome Lake and a few side roads. So, we were in the area of 73/74/75 for most of the day.

You don't know the unlucky I was that day. I slid into the Matt's truck trying to come down a skating rink to help him. I also broke a rear axle at the c-clip. Result - the right rear wheel fell off on 165 on the way home from Evan's Creek.

When you get one of your fancy GPS maps done from the trip, let up know. I'd still like to go exploring up in that area.

Rob, I'd like to explore that area a bit more perhaps early this spring.
It's been a long time since I have been on 74.

Dale, glad you did not get hurt when the wheel came off.
That is downright scary.

I wasn't planning on doing the disc brake conversion, but now that my backing plate is flat on the bottom, I've got 90 weight oil all over the shoes and we pretty much destroyed the shoes trying to get the wheel back on to move the truck around...

I picked up a used axle and the disc brake conversion set yesterday.
