Stuck shots

Hey, let's see some of your stuck shots.

These should be your OWN rigs stuck, not pics of someone elses. A little story would be fun too.

Here's a start.

This was up at my property in Bonney Lake. I figure a little wheeling with my daughter Carly would be fun. We planned just once or twice around my loops and I promised to avoid the big mud holes, which I did.

So I got kinda cocky and decided that I needed to toughen up the trail a bit. I locked the ARBs and put in it 2wd. I lit up the rear end (as much as my little V6 can light up a rear end) to dig some holes. When I put it back in 4wd, I couldn't get out. I couldn't even winch out (new alternator on the horizon!). I tried digging out, no luck either. In this picture, I already have hilifted the rear end and stuck logs under the rear tires. By this time I'd sheared off my ARB line and rear brake line, so no lockers. No brakes were not an issue at this point!

Finally Markus, AKA wicked_runner came up the next day with another club member Jason, to pull me out. A bit of a lesson AGAIN about wheeling alone (even though it was on my own property). I wasted about 2 hours plus a lot of Markus' time to come and get me that night and take me back up the next day after church to pull me out!

Those are 37s and that was AFTER I'd spent over an hour digging out.

BTW, there was NO hole there when I started, just a little puddle. Now, it a HOLE. That makes 5 holes/mud pits on out little course that require lotsa HP, big tires, or a winch... :pat:

Well, the picture pretty much explains itself. 2WD locked in the soft sand gets you a whole lotta stucky

Technically not stuck. The engine stalled and subsequently flooded. This entailed getting out and starting the truck from under the hood. I did get myself out of this though:

I got a little bit too close to the edge of the trail on the way up to smugglers cave near In-Ko-Pah and the side of the cliff crumbled away along with a small plant/root ball. So my drivers rear tire was swallowed and my truck started sliding.

I had to shore up the drivers front tire so it would have something to grip onto. We stacked rocks and used a huge beam of wood I carry. Lance and his v8 was strapped to the front of my truck and helped tug me out.

Now these are shots I like to see. Real trucks in real situations. No poser shots parked on top of a pretty snow covered road.

Let's see what every one's gotten in to!

The ground was quite soft. Nothing like watching the hillside break loose under your tires. It totally gave way under the truck in front of me. He was lucky there was a shrub there that literally caught him. It's quite a ways down from there. It took three winches to get him stabilized and out of there. Didn't help that I was stuck in the middle without a winch to help out.

this is really not a spectacular stuck shot, but i think this is the only time i've really been stuck.

i just didn't have enough momentum going up this hill and ended up in such a way that, well, i was stuck despite 4hi/lo, anything.

me and skyrat george:

casey, right as this picture was being taken i thought of the exact shot you posted so i had to give homage

i think i was around 10-12 psi. i pry could have gone lower, but...oh well. the first pismo trip i went down to 5 or 6ps when i towed out a couple people, that sure made a difference

First time getting stuck. No long story behind this, basically driving over a frozen puddle/pond, and the ice broke underneath me and in went my d-side rear. Yup, no locker = stuck!

I bet it would. Getting the pressure way down low in the sand makes a HUGE difference.

This was out at Evans creek in June. The snow, well it is ice, slid me off the bank. With a Hi-Lift and a winch I was good to go. If I had my lockers then I could have driven out of that mess

That looks like a section of 519, or was it 520? I hate that trail. It's so simple technically but I hate the off camber sections where you all you see on the downside is about 30 flips before you hit the bottom.

I know what you mean. The picture was taken on trail 198. I see the picture is gone.

Stuck

Here is my stock 2wd 4runner stuck in a deep mud puddle. Took us nearly 5 hours to empty the puddle and get a ford bronco in there to pull me out. Luckly no damage.
