I received a PM from 4banercraig and here is what he had to say.

Unforrrrtunately, my second run to Cow Mountain ended with a nasty rollover into some trees. Crawling out of the wreck I got a nasty systemic poison oak infection and a second degree coolant burn on my arm. Soon as that's cleared up I'll be able to take stock of the truck's situation and post up some photos on yotatech. Front end I can replace with a fiberglass kit but the steering's mashed back pretty bad and the left front tire's off camber about 15 degrees. If it isn't a frame issue or a bent control arm the truck'll be fixable. But in time for Squaw Ridge I don't know. I'm lookin at the kinda bill that's gonna take awhile to pay, and the kinda work that's gonna be a lot of days off and a lot of hours after work.
Kinda disoriented, don't even remember when squaw ridge is right now, but if she aint ready to go I'd love to figure out how to hitch a ride and make it there anyway. And if she's fixed in time I'll be there hands down.
I'd love to get a second, unbiased opinion on the fixability of the truck. I'll throw up some pictures as soon as I get it together and have them available.
Hope all is well!
Cheers,
Craig
I hope everything turns out well in the end for Craig. Hopefully he will be able to make the Squaw trip even if his Yota is still out of action by that time.

What happened to all that global warming we were supposed to be having. It is currently snowing on our trail. I think last year we were done with snow and waiting for everything to melt by this time.

you are correct Chris.

This is the reason I suggested to stockwel too change the dates to August. I am still wondering when the weather will actually get hot. The day time high's have not even past the low 50's on the trail yet during this year.

We will see how it turns out in the end. I am guessing the weather will be great during the trail run.

The reason to this strange weather is some how got word that the date was pushed back from last year and it wants to be RMA'S hero again. Any way ill be up in Tahoe 2 weeks form now and will be able to report on the polar bear club thoughts.

I have to agree with everyone about the weather being bad. Aug should be reasonable. who's to say how much snow is left on the trail though? Lol I live In North Shore Tahoe and today is the first day of sunshine in a while! Anyways It would be wonderfull if the snow melts quicker. It's tough finding places to wheel around here at certain times of the year. You are very limited up here to places you can go. Carson city or Boca, Stampede & Prosser are pretty much the only places available since you cant make it into Mckinney access into the rubicon unless you got like baloon tires! haha This is a perfect oppourtunity for YT members to go have fun and meet other wheelers! Let's all just keep our fingers crossed and hope for snow melt!

It will get hot soon and the trail will be open in time, no doubt about it. Two weeks ago I drove past the Bear River Reservoir turnoff and there was no snow in that area. Although I'm sure the higher points may still have close to 5 feet of snow, it wont take long for it to go away once we start seeing 100+ degree days in the valley. The only place that could possibly be tricky is down by that mud pit we had to go through where the sunlight is limited. Maybe this late cool weather will put a hamper on those mosquitoes, I dont think they can get any worse than they were last trip.

i do know for sure, the trail will be passable by the dates stated. I am sure there will be snow still up there and maybe mud pits when we make our way through. it does not really get all that hot up there at 9000ft. the average low temp during the night is in the 40's
