Sept 28th Mini-run up at thinkham (6or7am)

******************SORRY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!28th is when we're going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!************************** **************************meet there by 7(or 6)am on a mini run, we're planning to head back around 1 or 1:30PM as some of us has work. post if anyone's interested. nothing serious, just a trail ride for novice wheelers, of course an expert's guidence will be most helpful. TINKHAM AREA around snoqualmie pass, great views there especially with the sunrise =)

I'll post later on with driving directions. a Jeep Wrangler is coming and Nissan Pathfinder as well so this isnt strictly a Toyota run.

since it's gonna be a pretty early meeting and i know this will happen, some guys say you're gonna say you'll show up and not be there at all. I need commitments! not say maybe!!!!!!! please clear out your schedule and say YES. and Kevin, maybe you can give driving directions? I dont even remember what exit this was since we started from a different on our last run. I'm gonna extend my rear differentials just incase my urge to do something ILLEGAL(water cross) come out.

Ray... Do you really mean Saturday the 27th? In the other thread you guys were talking about Sunday the 28th.

If you _are_ talking about the 27th, then that's the date of the Fall Colors Run starting off in Enumclaw at 9am. That's also looking to end early 'cause folks need to get to work.

The Fall Colors has special significance 'cause it'll be the first time that Joey Meyers (UKMeyers) has been able to run since getting back from his wartime stint overseas with the Air Force.

So... if you're thinking of doing a run on the 27th, maybe think about running at Enumclaw. It'll also be a new trail versus the Tinkham area.

yeah ok sunday good. saturday bad (have to work) might have to work sunday, but not till like 5 or something. so i would say just meet at the gas station on sunday. I-90 east till you get to the summit at snoqualmie exits. take the first exit take a right onto the main road and the gas station will be on the left about 1/4 mile up the road next to the restaurant/hotel. so what time? 7?

Just in case you were thinking about going back to Tinkham, look at what happened when Rob and company ran it a couple weeks ago:

Yeah, be careful up there guys.

I took my little ones up there a month ago, thought about hitting that hill to get them to the top, and then decided against it. I think it was two weeks later that Gene rolled his truck.

I am _SOOOOOO_ glad that I didn't try that hill alone, WITH THE KIDS!

Yeah, seems like that was kept quiet- I didn't see it till I ran across it on the WATTORA board. Tinkham is a monster that lulls you into a sense of security....

Just a bit of bad luck- read Rob's write-up for the detail, but gravity can be a cruel mistress.... Could have been much worse, but it the right guys were there to handle something like that.
