Quick B4 Wheeling Maintance
Going Wheeling this weekend, and wanted to do some quick maintance. Besides it gets me outta the house and into the garage where the Beer is.
So heres my quick list
1: Install new rotor on front passenger side with new pads, I just replaced the cailper earlier this week (2 years old and siezed allready.. I guess cailiper's dont like the mud and water..anyone else have this problem?) When I did the work I put new pads on the drivers side, the DS Pads on the PS since the rotor was kinda ruff, now I gotta take it all apart again and re-place the rotor and put the NEW pads on... Nothing like doing things twice
1: Changing Front and Rear Diff fluid. Been about 1.5years since I've done it, Will also check extanded breathers while Im under there.. Man I hate the smell of gear oil. Yeah or Nay on the Lucus stuff in diffs ?
2: Replace Transfer Case Fluid... May as well buy a ox of 90w80 fluid.. Did I mention I hate the smell of Gear oil. Yeah or nay on Lucus in the t-case... Did I metion I have 3 bottles of Lucus sitting around
3: Oil change and filter. Figure why not... doesn't need to done just yet but only takes a second.. Plus Im gonna have the oil bucket out...
4: Check Levels on everything,
5: Grease driveshafts,
Tranny was flushed about 1year ago. Rads fairly new and fluid is allready good, Plugs and wires are newer.
Rear brake's shoes are about 4months old (Is there a quick way to adjust these as my Parking Brake cable doesn't exsit?)
Drivers side CV shaft is new boots perfect, Passenger side CV shaft is "clicking" at full left stear and has been for about 9months, it STILL hasn't broken.. but Ill try real hard this weekend.
Anything else quick and easy you think I should do ?

make sure all ur emergency stuff is ready....it never fails that whatever you overlook will screw up. I cant really think of anything else. and yes, i use lucas in everything that takes oil on my truck, and i use the fuel injector cleaner/upper cylinder lubricant in my gas. and the power steering fluid in my PS. so, IMO Yes to everything lucas. If they had brake fluid, id proabably get some. Anyways...good luck.

Emergancy stuff will be ready, cooler will be filled with snacks and
's
camera batteries are charged and ready. And Ill spare fluid should be ready to go. Air compressor still works, 4Air system is packed, and recovery strap and other recovery gear all set.
I'm wondering if I should repack the bearings on the passenger side since I will have the Rotor off anyway, (I cant remember when the last time I did that) The bearings are new on the drivers side. Or just leave it well enough alone !

Update
Well its 1:55 am Friday night.
I got the old rotor off the hubs
:and new rotor on
did the pads on the passenger side
, Bleed the front brakes
, repacked the wheel bearings on that side
QUESTION Is it bad to mix the Green wheel bearing grease and red synth high pressure grease ? I ran out
...
Lube the front dive shafts ..he he grease nipples
Did an oil change
and filter
, Drain the x-fer case
: Stuff drains slow you know, refilled the x-fer case 25% Lucus rest 80-90 drink: .. Pours slow too. drink (Im outta drinking smiles now.. didn't know you can only post 10 smiles.)
Drained the rear diff drink and re-filled. drink drink
Didn’t get a chance to do the front diff but ill do it when I finish my skid plate. Nor did I get a chance to grease the rear drive shafts more nipples drink
I’m tired and outta beer.
