on a lighter note im planning on going, and i was wondering about where were gonna set camp...right on the beach somewhere or at a camp site close by?
Until we know exactly how crowded the beach is, it's a little hard to say exactly where we're going to meet, but in the past, we've met and camped at the end of the beach section (around mile post 6). What I did last year was show up at the beach friday evening, got onto CB 4, and started calling for Yotatech. I advise you to get there before sundown; it can be a real beach finding a group of vehicles in the dark...

So, yes, we are camping on the beach, get your reservation through reserve america (listed earlier in the thread).

I concur with the night thing.
I was out there at around 9pm shortly after the sun had gone down and while I found one other YT guy it took us a while before we found the camp. Night and day, what a difference!

a cheap strobe from a marine supply store (i.e. Boaters World) should solve the Night Thing.

Somebody should make a spotlight that says YT on it.

I think a strobe would be kinda annoying for everybody else.

some disco lights and a stripper pole will do just fine. Just enough to attract the hotties.

In the past, they have sold them right near the entry station, but I don't know if I'd count on that. Any off-road store, or motorcycle shop that caters to ATV's should have them.

If you want to go crazy, firestik has some... (2' - 9')

not sure if i'll be able to get work off that friday, so i might be meeting you guys late friday night (midnight or so) or saturday morning... we'll see. so what's the deal with reservations? do you guys really think we need them? and if so, is it per truck? i've never had a problem just driving out there, paying the $10, and camping wherever...

1 camp site.
Probably near the end of the camping stretch, around mile post 6 like scottiac said.

when you get there, if you don't know where to go or don't see any yotatechers, call me up on my cell, or check the pre-determined CB channel. that contact info will be posted closer to the event.

1 camp site
I guess the designated place is near post 6, so i will meet there.

Tiki and I (in two trucks), and possibly a friend in a 03 prerunner TRD, and possibly a friend in a 05 Frontier 4x4 Nismo are cruising up probably friday morning, so we will meet up with everybody when they arrive.

Tiki and I will have our YotaTech stickers on, so should be pretty easy to spot us, the two red yotas with YT stickers.

I will also have a CB and FRS with me, we need to designate channels on here.

CalRockX, i will PM you my cell # so that you can get ahold of me if you need when everybody is trying to meet up.

You'll track a lot of sand into your vehicle. I don't know if you care about that. For the most part it's a lot of dry sand and dunes so lots of driving up and over.

For me:

2003 - stuck in the sand twice in the same spot
2004 - clutch gave out in the dunes. I had to be pulled out by BruceTS, locally towed to someone's house partly by tow strap (courtesy Robinhood) and the rest of the way with a tow truck. Spent the next day and a half getting the clutch fixed.
2005 - I guess this is the year I roll over?

Well sand isn't just on the inside. I know that I could still find sand washing off from nooks and crannies the last time I washed. It sticks everywhere, especially when it finds grease.

As for your 2004 experience what about me? Although oddly enough all of it was fun, go figure
