you're reservation allows you to camp in the dunes or beach, camp last year was located at the end where the fenced off area begins

 

Our camp site is right past mile marker 6 on the Sand Highway. if you follow down the coast you'll run in to a fence. make a left at the fence and follow that down, it only goes for about 200 meters, make a right at the end of the fence and that should be about where we're camping. the GPS coords for the camp site are PISMOCAMP N35.06133 W120.62831 9 ft (our campsite last year behind the fence)

hey Milton, I might be out there that weekend too. I was there last year with Bud, Jarrett, Khammy, and you. I was the one in the black double cab(well one of the three) along with my son. I had heard about the roll over through Bud, but he didn't tell me much. I'll keep an eye out for you guys and maybe you can fill me in on the rest of the story and I'll get to see your new(to you) 4runner.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it but the later you guys come the more likely the sand at that fence is going to be congested. It's pretty soft sand at that portion and the big full size trucks towing extra vehicles or RV-ish stuff end up getting stuck out there and it can get pretty messy with the different trucks stuck, smaller trucks going around, people trying dig themselves out, and the occassional dirtbike or ATV passing by.

I'm going to busting my butt to get there before the sun sets.

 

Is there a specific channel everyone if gonna be on?

Yup, 2 for me minimum depending upon final design. Would agree with others about a stuck Yota not being "politically correct". Like the front design.

 

Is anyone intending to be there earlier than 12noon Friday? If not, I intend to be there by then and in which case what size area do you want taped off? (I already have tape and posts)

Got a lot of things going on lately and would rather put my effort into making it out to Colorado at the end of August.

If I do show it will be only for 1 day/night.

 

For those heading from the South, my girlfriend and I will be stopping here.

We'd like to get there between 11:30 and 12, so we'll be leaving North County San Diego around 8 I think. Someone can set a meeting place if they'd like to meet on the way up, or we could meet at The Spot. A good place to meet in LA would probably be somewhere around the interesection of the 405 and the 101.
