sharks smarks , when my wife saw that sorry about the lady getting eaten she said that lady was really dumb for diving near seals, but the i told her i used to do that all the time. once again she said i lived up to my screen name. i dont really worry about that kind of stuff. i worry more about the stupid person talking on their cell phone and eating crispy cremes while driving. oh and they are probably watching dvds on their in cab flat screen

 

Does anyone know if there is free overnight parking near the entrance to the dunes? I know that some people got shuttled in last year since all the spots filled up. I'm camping there this weekend and my buddy doesn't want to take his car out on the sand.

 

Yep there's street parking. There's parking lots right next to the entrance, don't remember if you can park there overnight or not. But if you go a couple blocks down there is regular curbside parking.

ya, once you go out of pismo on pier ave, make a left on highway 1, make a right on grand ave, and go down about a mile or so... theres a neighborhood on the left hand side where you can park. thats where we all parked and shuttled everybody in last year.

same place... if you're coming off the one you're gonna get off at grand ave, you go down towards the enterance (or towards highway 1 to make a left to go in on pier, there are two enterances) its on the right hand side.

 

If I remember correctly, my girlfriend's brother and sister parked there overnight without any problems.

I will bring a board and freeze with you. Sharks shouldn't be too much of a problem. If I remember, pismo is mostly beach break. Usually, most shark attacks occur in the river mouths, where they are feeding.

Most likely it will be windy like last year.
