Pics from Moab

Just want to share some pics I took this last weekend on my trip to Moab with Darren. Had a great time. Just wish I had more time to exlpore more trails. Next time... Anyway, thanks to Darren for the use of his deflators and compressor and speedometer and sorry no one else could join us.

Here's Darren checking his clearance on Bull Canyon trail.

Me on Gemini Bridges trail.

Darren on the first of several 40 degree descents on Fins 'n Things.

Me on another 40 degree slope on Fins 'n Things.

This is from the top of Hurrah Pass. It almost looks like I photoshopped my rig in there, huh?

I'm already looking forward to my next trip. Who's in?

Alberta. Would be a long trek for you
Will be an ever longer trek for me, should be interesting to see how the truck handles it. MT's and an HD suspension are going to SUCK for that drive.

Those are some sweet pics, Michael! I'm glad I could help you out in the departments that you noted. I had a great time as well and it was cool to meet the rest of your family. Thanks again for the invite. Your new 'Runner looks great and the added clearance on yours played a HUGE role, as you know. You should be very pleased.

I wasn't going to, but now I'll have to put up a few of my pics here, now that you have a new thread up. I'll still send you everything I took of you when I take some time to do so.

I shouldn't say this, but I had a sweet time on the last 2 trails I ran after you departed. Simply awesome!

Thanks again!

Are you going to the ORV park in Edmonton?

Here's my contribution. My apologies if this is too much to put in the thread. If so, I will edit and link a few later.

Not Moab, but heading in that direction in Glenwood Canyon, near Glenwood Spgs, CO. Road trip!

Hurrah Pass

At the end of Chicken Corners road above the Colorado River, south of Deadhorse Point

Colorado River from the end of Lockhart Canyon off the Lockhart Basin road. This was basically my campsite on my last night.

Adrian, here's a pic of me on one of the Gemini Bridges. Personally, I love heights. Good thing, being that I'm from the highest state.

We ran Bull Canyon, Gemini Bridges, Fins & Things, some spurs around Hidden Canyon, and Hurrah Pass. After Michael departed on Sunday, I continued onto Chicken Corners and Lockhart Basin. Camped that night and finished Lockhart on Monday and headed for home.

Great pictures as always Darren. I'll try to send you my pics here in the next couple days. I'll have to check out Lockhart next time we go. I am very pleased with my 4runner. Just wish I had a little more clearance in the rear but that will have to wait. I think first on my list will be a deflator and a compressor. Even Carrie agreed that airing down is a must on those bumpy roads.

Yeah, Michael, you'll have to check out both Chicken and Lockhart. I rate them both a 10 on the scenery scale, and both feel pretty remote, which is great. Lockhart was nice and long (40+ miles) and parallels White Rim, which is off to the west. It was pretty slow going for most of the way with some fairly nice rocky sections at the beginning. Mr. Wells is adamant about not doing this one alone, but oh well! I'm sure I'll put up some trail reports of these on my site at some point with a lot more pics.

I'd go 4Runnin' with you anytime, as it's also nice to have some action shots of my rig as well. I don't have too many which have been taken by others, so this was definitely cool. And you're right, that last picture of yours you posted almost has a Photoshop look!

Lockers and protection and huge for Moab. Tires are not as huge a deal. Gearing does it as well.

September would be hot, at least the first half, and likely most of the second.
