Moab, anyone?
#5
Unless things change, I would be leaving Johnson Valley mid to late morning of the 24th and I'll drive non-stop to Moab. I can probably do that in one day, so I should be getting into Moab late that evening. Right now, I'm planning on towing another guys rig to the Jambo but unless he really kicks it in the ass, I really don't think he'll have his rig finished for the Jambo, so it'll probably just be me. I'll know more in a couple weeks, but I should be able to run with you Monday and Tuesday. I exploded a steering shaft, fried a power steering pump and shorted out my ARB compressor on Pritchett but I'll try it again if you guys were planning on doing it. Otherwise anything easier will be just fine with me. I'll PM you with my telephone numbers.

We won't be doing Pritchet canyon...Last time I did seven mile rim and gold bar until that steep dropoff...I was the only rig and wasn't too sure what to expect after that point! I am definately open to suggestions. Moderate to mid-difficult ( difficulty scale in the Wells moab book) is what I was thinking. So far its me, and either a friend with a stock rubicon or my buddy's 04 taco double cab. My rig is equiped as seen below...Getting there and back to evergreen without major damage is my objective

I did Fins 'n Things last year with Darren. There's a trip report around here somewhere. Here it is. We had a lot of fun on that one. I'd recomomend that trail for a good moderate/mid-difficult. My wife and I really want to get back there this spring. Maybe we'll try for that weekend. We'll see.

I'll prob leave for Moab fri night, get there around 10:00 pm. Sat, sun, mon, hit the trails. Tues probably chill and leave sometime mid afternoon for home. We usually camp at Bartlett wash, about 10 miles n of moab. It's a sweet little area of slickrock with great camping and not much traffic. Fins and things is on the list for sure. I was also thinking about gold bar,and seven mile rim. Maybe somthing in canyonlands. Might also do some rock climbing and rock hounding for agates, fossils, etc. If it has to do with rocks, i'm in!
