y'know, if you guys in TX have mud worse than the concrete i have welded to my truck, then you can KEEP it. i nearly broke a finger trying to pry this cr@p off! now i can see how the native americans were able to build all those huts that still remain after hundreds of years.

we have deep sewery smelling greenish brown mud. not quite like concrete, but sure does pack tightly in everywhere (i'm still finding clumps i have to pry out). i hope you get it off and that it didn't mess with the paint on your hood.

about a week or so after our trip, i found out that i lost part of the skid somewhere in a mud bog! i have some scratches too ... they looked awful at first, but with the right combo of polish and wax, you can make some good progress on buffing it out (usually) ...

i was lucky to have a yakima rack up top when we went because at one point, that rack was the only thing keeping a big tree off of me! scratched the hell out of the rack and the rails, but the rest of the truck was untouched (well ... by that one tree).

i can't wait to see more pics - it sounds like you guys had tons of fun!!

did you get stuck ever? i got stuck twice.

but i can't follow my own advice, remember, i can't fit 16" wheels.

yeah, i remember you keep saying that...i am going to drive out to texas and pop these wheels on your truck! y'know, and this is a serious offer, i need to buy one more wheel for a spare. i can just have wheelers ship it to you and you can test fit it on both the front and rear. i am convinced it will fit. what say you?

OK here is a teaser of some videos to come. I will do a proper write up and post it.

As always Dialup will suck with vid!!

This is ahriman (Michael) at the Steps, almost met a rock on the second run. Later in the day he just cruised up it.

It is not so much the mud but the angle of the bank on the other side that messes with you. I will post some vid tomorrow of myself battling to get out the other side the first time and bending my exhaust backing up in the "little mud". A guy in a Chevy helped us bend it back in shape ( I hope haven't cleaned and checked properly).

The second time I needed a tow as I didn't want to bend the exhaust again. Time to take it out on the side.

After looking at the video a bit more I think I need to do more mud driving as I messed up a bit. Not enough momentum, but those Firestones sure do have more bite offroad than my Bridgestones.

Oh well guess I need more training, when do we go again???

I hosed mine down a little tonight so it doesn't mess up the garage too much, and it looks like a mudpit in my driveway now. I kid you not, I still have mud on the RUnner and about 100 sq ft of my driveway is covered in what looks like an inch of sand and mud!!!!

Sliders will look cool on your truck. It really looked bad ass!!! Everybody liked it, most people though mine was stock next to yours. Maybe we should just let them think that.

I will post more video clips tonight, hopefully a fully edited video of the all the clips I got.

If you can let me know once you have the pics ready and any video I can start working on a little write up for the archive and post it.

Loved the outing!!! Need to do it soon. WHen I looked at the video clips, I really saw how I messed up at the little mud pit. I defintely need the exercise, I think I was in 4LO and not 4HI as I thought going into it so I didn't get enough wheel speed. The price to pay when you are a dumbass

Your wheel OK?

You can be in 4HI or 4LO with the RUnner as it has enough power to work in either. The problem is that I was in 4Lo and thought I was in 4HI, so I was in 1st gear. No speed just spinnign wheels and no momentum, therefore my dumdass comment.

FOr the mud experts (which obviously excludes me ), I think 1st in HI is probably good, or either 2nd or 3rd in LO pending on the circumstances. What do you think?? Michael what did you use?
