I was wondering, though, about the wheelie bars on Jim's and SteveO's trucks...

Steve and I threw those together to give us some rear protection. I know that mine worked very well, Steve didn't need his as much due to his height. It saved me a new bumper probably 20 times over, there were lots of shelves that we had to drop off of. It's actually pretty beefy, it mounts directly to the 8 holes for the stock hitch and I made it all out of 1/4".

But that is a funny pic of me on 3 wheels

yeah, they were a list minute item. I think the only time I need mine was on Golden Crack, and it was just the edge of it.

I might put some cabinet wheels on the bottom to make it a real wheelie bar...

You know if we had real wheelie bars then we wouldn't drag at all on the crack

Ya know, I'm seriously thinking about making some type of wheel caster addition that can be mounted and unmounted for trails. Some small heavy duty caster wheels that I can mount up when hitting the trail, and then remove them when I'm done.

It would be interesting to hit a shelf in the back and just roll off it on wheels! Its an innovative idea that would be very cool if it worked. You might need a few casters along the back (maybe 5?).

An update on Adrian:

Off Road Solutions is still not done doing the engine swap on his truck. The facts:

- Adrian gave ORS possesion of his truck for double the time they told him the job would take (2.5 weeks x 2 = 5 weeks).
- As of week 3, ORS hadn't even removed his old motor.
- We know for a fact that ORS was doing work on other rigs that month (including my locker).
- As of today, 6 weeks have transpired.

Last night Adrian bought an airline ticket, and this morning my wife dropped him off at the airport. (His brother's high school graduation is Friday, so he needed to get home.)

We had a great time with Adrian, but it's unfortunate the circumstances. He's not sure when he'll be able to get possession of his truck again because he has to work and he has weddings to attend almost every weekend this summer. What a nightmare!

ORS really dropped the ball. I think they should ship Adrian's truck to Wisconsin when it's done.

This is already going too far, you guys are hilarious

SteveO, I'm sure that once we get the chance to design some tube bumpers they will handle all of the abuse we throw at them.

Is there any place to wheel in Wisc.? How about we all take a trip up there and bring his truck to him.

Like I said all along, this is not really all that uncommon in the 4X world, look at what I went through with Marlin.

Also, where else are you going to go.

But on the other side of the coin, for the huge fee of the swap, they certainly can swing a 500 transport fee.

But.................. If the cheese wants to work there, he's gotta lay low.

Now that's a DOUBLE WHAMMY !!!

Common or not, it's very unprofessional. And it's causing Adrian a significant inconvenience. (He lives 1000 miles away, and this is his daily driver!)

Encountering bottlenecks is one thing (but Adrian provided them ample padding for unforeseen bottlenecks). Procrastinating on someone else's dime is quite another (which is what happened). If I were him, I wouldn't do business with them again, unless it were simply purchasing parts.

Steve, if I remember right, you were not at all pleased with Marlin's lack of professionalism.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. He'd like to see about getting a job there. Hmmm...

If it's only $500, if worse came to worse, it might be in Adrian's best interest to foot the bill himself. Because, once he factors in an airline ticket and gasoline, it might be close to a wash. And then factoring in lost wages, it would actually be the frugile thing.

Good Gawd Steve, those vids are sick. I like the one of you going up RockChucker, you can hear your wife let out a small holler when the right front got off the ground. Your wife is one hella good driver!

Both Rock Chucker traversals are very impressive. The line they took was my idea (I need to take credit for something! ). It's still amazing to me that they were able to go anywhere from the wheel stand.

Schaefer, is there a place close to you to get drive shafts re-tubed?

There are quite a few drive shaft places in Phoenix, but you could install the MC09. It's not all that hard, if you can do a clutch, you can install it. The levers are the hardest part.

The key is to make sure they send you everything, but if you buy one pre-built, they will.

ORS may be in the only game in town for engine swaps, but not for everything.

They put in my locker, but it took 3 days because they didn't start the job until a day and half after they asked me to drop off the truck. My wife was upset because she needed the truck to attend a Rockies baseball game on the third day, yet it wasn't ready.

That's true, I certainly know how to put in a clutch...

Would you advise against having a set of driveshafts pre-made?

Oh quit your whineing. The world is not a perfect place. What is more important is that Adrian does not have to GO BACK several times.

Have some more coffee.
