Good work Steve, I didn't think the gerbils would carry you that fast.

I am annoyed, the transgression has happened, and it could have been avoided. There is nothing to do now but wait. I am thankful I was and still am in a position to deal with this situation. My folks have lent me one of their rigs, I made it back to Cheeseland, and the truck is most of the way to being done. I promise a comprehensive story when the rig is done and in my hands. Until then, I am not saying any more.

Pics are not loading because of dial-up, oh well.

Ouch...I guess I was lucky. I made it back to ABQ (read 400 miles) in about 5 1/2 hours (my wife fell asleep for a few hours and I made really good time).

I too am surprised that your 4 cylinders of furry would kick it up that far I also think it's awesome that you had the fore thought to document the experience with a pic.

doooods-

I can easliy get the gerbels to push the thing to 100, but on the 35's it's scarry.

A Navajo ticket does not get tunred into the state, it's only 50 blankets.

I have not got a ticket in 13 years so I guess it was about time.

I called Marlin this morning to tell him of how I fixed the Tacoma short throw from making the sewing machine sound. I also told him I made it up easily Double Whammy which Dick Foster of TTORA destroyed his stock case.

I sent them the videos. Even though my experience with him did not go as planned, I keep a good rapore with him. What is more important to me than bitching about something I have no control over is keeping him as a friend and resource for the future.

Today I dug into the rear bumper on the 1986 4Runner from Arizona. I will finish that as promised, not everone is as organized as I am. Just the way it is.

You should be as gracious with your fellow wheelers. (Consider this example of an exaggerated sense of self-importance: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...1&postcount=25)

What you should be saying: "What is more important to me than bragging about how much more bitchin' I am than a fellow wheeler is keeping him as a friend for the future."

Am I picking a fight? No. I'm pointing out that it would be great if you would apply the same grace with your friends (who you consider to have inferior rigs) that you do with inconsiderate 4x4 shops. I'm especially speaking up because it's not me that you've belittled, but rather, a really gracious guy with a terrific rig. I know you can be nicer -- you were great company last weekend.

SteveO, I jokingly called it "Get out of the truck and screw around ledge" I don't think it had a name.

I may have DSL tomorrow for pics, we shall see.

Schaefer was on good behavior, I enjoyed his company and another memorable trip in the grocery getter.

No new news. I am still frustrated, but that will not help things. It is getting done, and it will be done well. It did not get done in time and that is a bugger. He still runs one of the biggest and arguably the best Toy shops in the nation, not to mention it is the only shop catering to newer rigs. I trust all will be made right and again I am thankful for those who made the trip possible in the face of adversity.

Steve,

I think maybe I should go into stealth mode on this thread. For some reason, your posts got under my skin. If it's all in fun, I can laugh with you. But it didn't come across that way to me this time. Maybe because I saw both you and Steve Hunt perform on the trails, and I thought you both did an outstanding job. It isn't right to short change him. Besides, few people like braggarts.

Forums can make enemies of people, and I'm [edit: not] trying to do that. Take it for what it's worth.

I meant, "I'm NOT trying to do that." (What a dip I am!)

Hell's Revenge is good if you have some buggies with you that you can watch climb through the bowls. Fins and Things is a downgraded verison of Hell's Revenge, so I'm not that interested. I've been on Steel Bender and it's okay. I'd like to do all of Poison Spider. Also I'd like the try Behind the Rocks.

Should be wrapped middle of next week.

I would like to complete Cliffhanger, then Hell's Revenge, Lower Hellderado when or if it opens again, Fins and Things, Pritchett if Steve and Steve are driving, and that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

The True Trac impressed me this weekend, way better than open.

It did well and worked most of the time, an ARB RD90 would still be better since it's a full spool and not a limited slip, but for the cost of a compressor, locker and install, just the simple tru-track added to the existing e-locker is a very economical way to gain some good front traction.
