GORMAN HUNGRY Valley
#21
I go more for the sight seeing factor... not the beat up the truck factor. I have hit up some places around us found in the the S.C. Backcountry Adventures book. I have done the Camino Cielo Rd in Santa Barbara; Willow Springs/Llano Ghost Town/Tropico Mining Town in Palmdale. We were going to do several others, but ran out of time. All of the places mentioned are within an hour of my town of Newbury Park. Granted, none of them are very difficult, they are all fun and there are always things to see while out there. Like I said, I'm more for the adventure part of the "sport"... not to just do it and possibly break my truck. I always have an agenda and there is something cool that has been seen by the end of the runs. If anyone is interessted, I'd be more than happy to coordinate some trips in the near future for this type of trail ride. If you want to see photos of the places I've mentioned above, click the "MUCHOS FOTOS" link in my signature and have a look. Like I said, not difficult, but they are all small & fun adventures.

Hey JRUNNER... I will have to call you when we go wheelin' back in the Santa Barbara area. You being in Oxnard, you're already halfway there! I'm in Newbury Park by the way. Maybe sometime in October or November?

It was the 20th.
3 of us were out there. It was HOT. Had a fun time roaming around. I didn't bring a camera so no pics from me. I could not stay around the full day so it was down to 2 people after the BIG hill climb. The Yotas climbed well, my 2wd was not up to the hill climbing task as the hills were too loose and the woops at the bottom cut out the fast start.
