There's a pretty cool staging area with a hill and a puddle (or there was last time I was there)

I'd be interested at another day, AUgust 20th is too hard to swing since the baby is on the way. Keep me posted of any trips you may do in say October or later.

No some idiot had his first post as a trip planning thread and the content of it was something along the lines of "Hungry Valley, drinking, smoking 420 and offroading. Don't be a jerk be there" or something stupid like that.

dude, you don't even need lunch...
you can come out and grab Carls Jr, McD, or Sizzler. it's right off the Gorman exit. The OHV is about 1/2 mile down.
I cna't make it this time....I might be out for the fourwheeler wheel what you drive or something like that in Sept.

Hey Speeder... Newbury Park here! We'll have to hook up sometime for a trail ride or 2 in the future. I have a few friends that go with me... maybe we can put together a convoy early next year and go to DV or something?

Since you're only about 45 min away... maybe we can have a 4x2 convoy. Hit up some of the trails around this area and Santa Barbara! It would be fun!

Which areas?

If you're near Los Angeles, then there is a bunch of stuff in the Inland Empire, Silverwood Lake area, desert is only 1-2hrs away, like Calico by Barstow. Big Bear has a ton of dirt roads and trails both easy and diffifult. Gorman is good for 4X2 but not very challenging for 4X4. I've been to San Gabriel ORV center which is up the 39 in Azusa, CA, they don't allow 4X2 but I have an old IH Scout II which is a 4X4.

Anza Borrego is only 2hrs away from LA, just 30 minutes past Palm Springs. Tons of stuff in San Diego county as well.
