LA,
Finally decided to chime up. Cool man.

Everyone. I would like to introduce my nephew LA. Be kind to him. He just as proud of his Taco as he is with his pathfinder.

Glad to hear that your still coming dude.

As for 9am. Thats sounds much better for me.

Welcome aboard LA. I did not realize you were related to Mike when I conversed with you last week.

I think the majority of us will be going to FS 72.
Up where I wanted to go by the Naches is probably getting a lot of snow about now.
It's close to 5000' feet up there.

Lots of unexplored areas in the 72 area.
Sounds like we are going to have a whole lotta of rigs showing up.

I don't think we'll see much snow on the Naches as the snow level is at 6000' all week, but we'll certainly see lots of mud and slippery hills.

I'm for seeing how far we can get on the Naches.

If we have 3 or 4 that want to split up to try the Naches then that would be great, if not, we'll tag along to wherever. Running the Naches this weekend will probably be a locker's required trip however.

Any hands up for trying the Naches??

Yes, I think two groups would be nice.
Me being open diffed won't attempt any of the Naches then until next July or August.

I'll probably be hanging on the 72 run then.

I am game for whatever... Naches, FS72, it's all good.

I am going to be cranking up my front suspension to match the new rear springs this evening, so I will be good to go.

I will have the beast fueled up and ready to go at 9:00 or thereabouts at the Safeway in Enumclaw.

I'm open to having anyone run Naches with us. Hmmm no lockers and puny tires... LOL

I hope you have good tow point, perhaps a winch or at least your own tow rope.

Why do you think Corey is always complaining about his gas mileage. Its because i secretly hook my rig to Corey's and he pulls me along

Weather Update

One of our chapter members went up to Funny Rocks this past weekend. Funny Rocks is at a comparable altitude to sections of the Naches Pass Trail.

So, I am betting that you find his pictures to be a touch whiter than you expected... at least I did...

The whiter the better. I'll have my kids sleds loaded up. I've not run this trail before but I understand that there's not much in the way of severe off camber that'll send you down a mountainside, perhaps just on your side.

It'll be a good time to air right down, lock em up and go slow. I was checking NOAA weather radio and they said that the snow level was between 4000 feet during the night and 5000-5500 at night. That means we're likely to have some fresh wet snow, more like med, than ice. It's warmed up quite a bit over the last week.

Shane and his friend go through last weekend with out any reay problems. Shanes got a good righ and lots of experience, but he's still open and running IFS with the inherent limitations. It will not be a newbie run. I would recommend at least a rear locker, good 31" tires or better and some extraction equipments. I can see up needing some help up the steeper hill climbs. I see it as a good chance to test me and my rig. I just got the front ARB installed. I'm running 37x12.50 MTRs, lots of lift and flex, so I'm looking forward to stretching my rig a little.

Nissans

Hello Everyone,

For right now the count from the Nissan group is three pathfinders and one toyota truck.........makes 4 vehicles on this side. There have been guys and gals wanting to go, but we haven't gotten any 4sures from them, so I'm just counting on the 4sures.......;-) I called the guys from the Xterra Club and they are doing the evans creek clean up? so they'll be out there and maybe some of them might show up who knows? Anyways....P.S. The count might be a little more by Sat. 9th....k? ....last minute people............Thanks L.A.

Just an update

Dave just sent me a weather report, the first big one of the season.

WAZ012-017-018-090000-
OLYMPICS-WEST SLOPES CENTRAL CASCADES & PASSES-
WEST SLOPES N. CASCADES & PASSES-
400 AM PST FRI NOV 8 2002

..WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT TONIGHT THROUGH SUN FOR
ELEVATIONS ABOVE 4500 FEET...

THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT STORM OF THE SEASON WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD
PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE NW THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE AIR
MASS OVER THE REGION IS SLOWLY COOLING...WHICH WILL ALLOW SNOW
LEVELS TO SLOWLY DROP BELOW SOME OF THE HIGHER MTN PASSES THIS
WEEKEND. THE SNOW LEVEL TODAY IS EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 5500 FEET
OVER THE OLYMPICS & CASCADES...LOWER TO 5000 FEET TONIGHT & TO
NEARLY 4000 FEET LATE SAT INTO EARLY SUNDAY.

THESE CONDITIONS WILL ALLOW ACCUMULATING SNOW TO REACH WASHINGTON
AND RAINY PASS IN N. WASHINGTON...AND CHINOOK PASS IN THE
CENTRAL CASCADES. SNOW MAY BE OBSERVED AT STEVENS & WHITE PASS
SATURDAY INTO EARLY SUNDAY...HOWEVER IT IS NOT EXPECTED TO
ACCUMULATE SIGNIFICANTLY AT THESE ELEVATIONS.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS WINTER WEATHER IS POSSIBLE...BUT NOT
IMMINENT. AT THIS TIME, THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE MOUNTAINS. WITH THIS
BEING THE FIRST MTN SNOW EVENT OF THE SEASON...PREPARE NOW FOR
THE POSSIBILITY OF WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS HIGHER
ELEVATIONS & MTN PASSES.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...THE OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE...OR OTHER LOCAL NEWS SOURCES FOR FURTHER
DETAILS.
I will be hanging out on the lower 72 run instead of going up higher on 70.
If I had a locker, then I'd try the Naches.
Corey

That may be a good choice Corey. For those of us with lockers, I need to find some snow for my kids!!!!

Who has lockers and is set up to try Naches with with? I say that we go as far as we can go without wasting time going no where. Then come back down and see what we have time left for
