like the title says. I knwo running atv's, quads, and such you have to have a tall orange flag attached to your rig. But what about trucks, I have never been with my truck and didn't know if we had to have a flag too???

 

I have no clue on whether they are required or not as I live in Indiana. Though I'd advise you too even if they aren't required. Any extra visibility never hurts on dunes like Pismo (of which I've seen many pictures).

 

A quick web search of past events at Pismo shows pretty much everyone with a flag on their rigs. So, while I can't say for certain, it's a pretty good bet. Besides as was mentioned, even if it's not required, it's a VERY good idea.

But if it was mandatory it sure would make things a bit safer. Its a PITA when you can't go up and over a dune for fear someone is on the top or other side and they don't have a flag warning you of their near presence.

My 2cents - get one. You can buy them at the beach sometimes too. I bought mine from a bike shop. The attached was not too strong tho. Ended up putting it out thru the side window. With the window up and it wedged in near the armrest, its a pretty good setup. Think I'll make something better tho.

I do. It just takes a minute to put on and I figure something I can do to make me more visible while cresting a dune or something can't be a bad thing.
