Denver Food, Fun, Etc. April 24th

I will be in the hood on "business" the weekend of Saturday April 24th. At this point, I am not sure exactly when I will get into town, but it will be before supper time, hopefully by a comfortable margin.

As a result, it would be cool to have supper, tell stories and have a good time that night if anyone who I have met or have not yet met is game.

Not sure on venue or time frame, but judging on who is interested we can shift the time and venue to suit. I will be as far West as Arvada and eventually need to point East to the airport.

Jeff and Scott sounded interested, Mike prompted this thread. Anyone else?

Sounds like a good place for that gathering would be in the general area of Wadsworth / I-70 / I-76 / 50th Avenue. There's multiple restaurants in that area while being near Arvada and having great highway access. It's basically central-western Denver.

Restaurants to choose from include: Bennett's BBQ, Texas Roadhouse, Applebees, Red Robin, a few other sit-down places I can't think of right now, plus a few fast food places. I'm sure I forgot some places. What are people's preferences?

Texas Road House is a cool place, I think I even have my margarita card from the last time I went to one.

Red Robin's are cool too, but we have those in Wisconsin.

Any other takers?

I am not sure I have the location quite right in my head Jeff, time to take a look at Expedia to make sure.

That Texas Roadhouse is at 5515 Vance, Arvada, CO 80002, which is right at 55th and Wadsworth.

They used to have that incredible list of 30 or more margaritas. They had to cut it down to less than 10 for liability reasons. I guess they tasted so good that people couldn't stop drinking them.

I'll see if I can get up there. My truck is broke so i'm without wheels that can get me up there. That'd make one heck of a bike ride.

I will be heading out Friday morning. Still not sure on exact arrival time, but shooting for a 6 or so pm supper and catching up with Scott at the 8 pm hour sure sounds doable to me.

The Roadhouse is more conducive to drinks and chatting FWIW, but I have no strict preference yet.

Jeff failed to mention this is all near his house, too.

Anyway, it sounds fine to me. I think our whole family will be there.

Well, yeah, that's about 5 miles to the east.

The restaurant selection there is probably opposite of the go-kart place further east.

I'll be there Saturday. So it sounds like the tentative plan is 6pm at Texas Roadhouse. Or if Adrian's speed varies by +/- 1 mph, it could change the meeting time by an hour or so, eh?

All right, the "business" is all in order and I will be leaving Friday morning, so I should be in town for supper easily.

The Roadhouse at 6 pm sounds great. It would be great if there were only supper takers or only later drink takers to let us know now so I don't get stuck there alone without wheels.

Jeff, I will drop you a note here too.

Anyone else?

I'm still planning to be there, Adrian.

Dave, sorry to hear about the job situation--again. If you have enough gas in the tank, show up, and your dinner and maybe a couple of drinks are on me. Not a problem, and don't worry about it. We'd like to meet ya and have you out there.

Have fun.

Dave, it will be good to meet you.

Darren, glad to know you can make it and are encouraging others.

John, sorry to hear you can't and more sorry that you will have to be suited up. I guarantee no one in this crew will be suited.

Jeff, I dropped you a note.

Mike, I dropped you a note as well.

Others?

I can be there around 7pm for "supper" if that works. I'll get the kids asleep and shoot over.

I will be arriving to the Roadhouse with Jeff at 6 pm Saturday evening provided I make it to Denver and Jeff does not disappear.

Hopefully all but Scott will be there at that time to eat, drink and be merry. I am game to stay for BSing for a while, but I will need to head East eventually, preferably at a reasonable hour.

Looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones.
