After watching some videos of trail runs that I have been on and noting the inadequacy of still pictures in capturing cool stuff, is anyone able or willing to volunteer to shoot some video and maybe patch something together?

Where is this list of people?

Of the top of my head...
Me
Aurora Sandman and family
JTM (I think that is code for Marmot)
Darren
Matt with no C
SteveO
Jim from Albaquerque

A few people have asked about current status. So I think it's best if I simply copy the summary stats from my spreadsheet to here.

Food:
Donna has helped us figure out who should bring what food. Please go to the CO4RJ web site for details.

I'm still expecting a couple other people to register, but it seems to have slowed down.

I've advertised this CO4RJ at 4x4wire, Yotatech, CO TTORA, and a few other forums. I'm getting very little response outside of 4x4wire and Yotatech.

What do you think about posting an invite on some other forums? Two that come to mind are the 4Runner4x4club on Yahoo and Colorado4x4.org .

camping
Jeff, you can add me to the camping list. The wife and I will be camping there as well. Do we need to call the campground ahead of time and let them know this as well???

How come no one wants to wheel with you on Friday Jeff, that must be rough. Two to one people fear the Marmot!

Only 4 rigs will not be 3rd Gen runners and one of those is a Ford!

It is going to be a good time everyone, if you can make it come along.

Thanks for posting the list Jeff, all the work you have done on this is much appreciated.

Steve,
OK. No, you don't need to call the campground or do anything else. It's all set. Nice and easy. Just letting me know is good enough. I just want to monitor how many people will be in the group sites. Heck, if someone decided at the last minute that they wanted to go to CO4RJ and tent with us, that would be fine, too.

When you arrive at the campground, everyone who's tenting will simply say they are with the Toyota group and you'll pay the campground individually for $5/person/night to stay in the group site.

righto!
That sounds good to me. Anybody know about dogs. I called to ask about their cabins, and dogs are not allowed inside their cabins. So, I would assume that dogs can be in the tent site???

I know I've seen other people at that campground with dogs in tents. I don't know any specific rules that they have about pets. There are very often deer IN and near that group tent area, so they most likely have some sort of leash requirement for the campground. Good question, though.

I had already posted it on 5 forums. I frequent Colorado4x4 but just added the post there. I've been gradually expanding the publicity so it doesn't get too large and out of control. I hadn't ever heard of the 4Runner4x4club at Yahoo. I just tried sending an announcement there, too. So that's 7 forums/BB's now.

So, with that said, do you have a limit set in your mind? I see Wheeler lake already has 12 registered to do this trail - which I imagine would be nearing the maximum amount of people you want to be leading up that trail.

How many total people would constitute too large?

I better get registered before it's too full....

I'm not too worried about the group size for Wheeler Lake, although it is starting to get to a max reasonable size. Chinaman's will probably take longer with a bigger group, so that's a bit more of a concern to me with a few more people added to the list. I don't have a limit set on them (yet) although they could both be getting close.

What I originally meant was generally about the total number of vehicles attending - we're still a nice size group as a whole. Still hoping to get more newbies/stockers out there, though.

I just edited the above post with summary stats to add a couple more vehicles.

This Az taco owner just registered.

I'm willing to help spot on some of those runs, if needed to help manage a larger group.

I might just be traveling with a Desert Tan 4Runner??? Just a possibility I heard about tonight, we'll see......

Marmot, Schaefer and Steve O in the same place at the same time, if I owned a 3rd Gen runner I would be there for sure!

Glad you can make it, should be a blast for sure.

I don't mean to be too enthused about this, but seriously I am pumped.

Has anyone registered for tougher stuff than they are built for, or mostly are people on the mark?

Flygtenstein,

I have probably registered for tougher than I am built for at this point. But I am hoping to be locked by then. If not I will probably not attempt Chinaman's on Friday.
