Holy Cross is Friday and Wheeler is Saturday.

Should not be a problem.

So I would assume were sticking to the original schedule. I can see how changing it would throw some peoples schedules off.

I think it's a public like fire pit with a grate over it. So open fire type thing as far as I remember.

Trails

I agree with Mojo Risin. Swapping all these trails is a mess for everyone who has made plans based on the original schedule. I think Adrian has done his best with this years Jambo and think we should stick to the original trails and quit having everyone jump in aand change things. I think we can all have a great time during this event and all the original trails should be worked out. Come on eveyone Can't we all just get along
Let's have a great get together with old and new friends alike to share our love of rock crawling, scenic driving and checking out each others rigs and mods

just to re-cap -
1. spooning okay.
2. Night run after BBQ- not okay (cut into drinking time).
3. Wing it as we get through the trails- okay.
4. Wing it in the morning after seeing who shows up- okay

This has been getting to be more of an Informal event over the years more for the sake of people changing their minds as they event rolls on. There can be breaking so they hop down a notch of trail, or they move up in trail selection if they are comfortable with the truck. As long as we have a general idea of count I say keep it the way it is and figure it out when we see who actually show up.

As for the rolling on Holy Cross - it is typically the driver driving like an a-hole more than it is the short wheel base. We shal see!!!

No one is changeing anything. We're just doing our own thing on Sunday, since we will already have done the trail that is scheduled.

Got it?

I am going to two-step and will be off-line for a while.

Things I know:
1. Schaefer/whoever I ride with will be leading an assault on Holy Cross above the City on Friday. Supper in Leadville to follow.

2. Scott will be leading a trip on Chinamen's Friday with bypasses open.

3. Scott will be leading a fishing expedition up to Grizzly Lake on Saturday.

4. Jeff will be leading a race up Iron Chest Saturday.

5. I expect an assault on Chinamen's after the race on Saturday.

6. Scott, Schaefer and whoever else will be doing things not directly related to planned trails on Sunday.

7. John will be leading a Wheeler Lake run Saturday. There will not be a planned second run of this related to the Jambo.

I am still hurting for scenic trails/leaders. If we get to camp and have someone who has done a scenic that is close and wants to take others, please feel ready to do so.

The fire pit is large and communal. I usually bring a stove too. Bring your own meat, sidedishes/salad/beer will be shared.

I am concerned about a head count and paying for camping. Some have made their own arrangements, others have paid already, but I do not want a billion people showing up, not paying and pissing off Chalk Creek and me.

What time are you guys departing the campground on Friday for Holy Cross? I need to plan my departure time from C. Springs to meet everybody that morning. After 1200 Sunday I will be internet-less for a while (unless the hotels have something free to use).

If anybody sees a loaded down red Tacoma cruising west cross country Mon-Wed that would be the wife and I.

Adrian - I'm planning on staying in the group tent site Friday and Saturday night, so I sent you PayPal money for those nights. I won't be staying Thusday night, but Mark (Mark_fit) and I plan on being there early Friday morning to make the medium rocks run. Actually, I'm not sure what runs Mark has planned on doing, but I'll be in the medium group.

I think we are slotted to leave at 8:00am and we really need to leave very sharp, since it is a long drive. So try to hit the camp at 7am and you'll be safe.

I agree that it looks best to plan for the Iron Chest run to be fairly quick that morning. As long as we get out of camp promptly that morning and cruise the trail, I think we could pass through camp again at about lunchtime in between Iron Chest and Chinaman's. We can split the group immediately after Iron Chest -- if there are people who want to do Grizzly Lake that day, I can point them to the trailhead and the first obstacle on Grizzly. They can meet Scott at the other end of the trail that day. I'll probably go to Chinaman's with several other people and we can cruise that one too.

Adrian knows I'm willing to lead the "moderate" run on Holy Cross to the creek on Sunday. If people with at least a rear locker want to do that one, we can plan to do it exactly as it is on the schedule. Depends on interest for those people. I can lead any moderate trail that those people want me to lead. We'll still assume Holy Cross unless there's a big concensus. Cathy and I will be headed back to Denver immediately after the completion of the trail on Sunday.

Roughly a 3 hour drive so I will need to depart by 0400.... Luckily I am used to those types of hours.

Oh man, this is gettin close! I'm starting to get excited...

I pick up my Powertank tomorrow so I will finally be prepared to air up my own tires without the use of a gas station or bumming off others.

Adrian, I'm going to paypal my money right now...

The obstacle he's talking about is way beyond anything we've attempted on prior Jamborees.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I will be. I'll probably need some help with the kids, getting them ready in the morning. All three of them should be with me. It'll be sad not being there with Donna. But I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with everyone and my wonderful "kidlettes."
