my photos will be up in a few. Not many cause I was to busy driving.
I had a great weekend. A big thankts to Critter, Dunk, chris, Jim, and Doolly. It was a good small group that really didn't have many probs.
Critter and myself started heading up the hill around 4:45ish, long drive thur musco....that sucked. Then finially got to crestline to pick up my dad. Then started up the hill. Stopped for some ÅÅÅÅty pizza then finally got to Holcomb Valley Camp Ground around 8ish.
We had our fun threw the night...lazer pens are still fun when you have a dog that live to chase them.
Woke up a not so bad weather but also not so good. The sun was trying to punch threw a few times. Helping the temp seek somewhere in the low 44 from the freezing 30s. We started a day at about 9ish. We headed for our first trail which was Gold Mnt. Good trail for sure, kinda boring but hey. At the big slate garden we had some fun, that ÅÅÅÅ is loose. I was crawling threw the rocks and my Hula Girl jumped off my hood and dove head first into the slate abis. We sent the search party out looking but no dice..sniff sniff.
That what kinda made the day go to hell. Once we finished Gold Mnt we headed over to the start of John Bull. Waited up for jim and had some lunch. Then a few min before jim showed up to join us it started to rain/ snow. Yes snow, it didn't stick but it made for slippery rocks.
The rain/snow made the trail just a bit harder, Critter made it look easy, so jim took a stab at it. Went threw the start and just needed a little bit of a spot. I was next and didn't have to much probs but my rear diff did split a rock into 2 making the trail a bit harder for dunk. A few min and a few spots later we made it past the start and headed up the trail snow and all.
Shortly after my runner started to make that funny vibrating sound from under the truck. Threw it up on jack stands to find that the rear driveshaft was bent and didn't qite turn semetical (sp?). But that wasn't the prob, still need to pull the front end apart to find out what the hell is wrong. Then critter lost his tail light on a tree or so he thinks. none of us knew when he lost it but is was MIA. Then Jim almost took out his he camper shell going threw that 2 tree parts. I almost took out the enitre side of the runner lol.
Ended john bull and headed to holcomb, THe tral was fun like normal, the rain and snow stopped which was nice. We took X trail cause the v notches are much funner. Had some fun climbing threw the rocks and then ended holcomb to then take on deep creek or as some know it as dishpan.
Dunk had a long drive home so he took off, also jim took off a bit earlyer leaving critter and I to take on the dishpan. My truck started to really bitch, would barley idel so we sterted to pick up the pace, critter almost rolled the truck. I was told him to stop so I could take a picture but being the inpactient SOB he is he started to roll a bit more and the rear end started to go, a little use of the skinnie pedal and he was all good. Next was the water fall, critter took some good lines and finally got some use out of that sliders. Made it look easy and then it was my turn. I wanted to go down the water fall so I got pretty tippy, it was the closes I have been to rolling so it was a puker factor of a 9. Got threw it and then finished the trail. By this time the clouds and fog were rolling in threw the front side. It was around 5:45ish by the time we ended dishpan and got aired up.
Dropped my dad off in crestline and started to make our way down the 18. Getting lost due to the fog kinda sucked, couldn't see ÅÅÅÅ and driving down the 18 at about 5 mph was not fun. At this time critters headlight would start to flicker due to a bad ground. So that made fo even more fun.
We kept creeping along, rocklight and my delta on trying to better light the road we finally got under the fog. Soon as we did california finist was sitting waiting for speeders. He then noticed that critter tail light was MIA, so he blows by me and gets behind critter. I backed off cause my headlights are the dimmist and he pulled critter over. I kept going for about a mile ill I found a turn off. about 20 min later were back o the road with a fix it ticket. I guess the officer was a former toyota owner who liked to play on the rocks, but since he is a CHP he had to give critter something. So now we need to figure out how to make those 37s fit behind the fenderwells, oh yeah in 30 days mind you.
Then with the 215, 15 interchange we had to take side streets, well a journy concert was at the glen helen pavillion so more CHP and local cops were on the streets. We had to take a slight detour and had a another CHP give critter and myself lectures on the importance of tunr sigs. So about 9 oclock now we got back to my casa. The girls were hurting but they got us home

Great write up Mike...
Glad to hear you guys got home OK. Thanks for guiding me thru John Bull. OMG that was fun. I thought for sure I was going to need a strap to get thru but made it OK and nothing broke. It will take me a while to grind the burrs off my sliders and rims. At least they did their job. The best part was having a front row seat watching Chris. That guy can wheel! I still can't believe my 'Stocker' made it, lots of good luck, I guess.
Thanks, and Hope to See You Guys Again...
