For the life of me, I cannot recall ever seeing a Bashas entering Carefree.

Is this at the intersections of Tom Darlington Rd and Carefree Rd?

There is a Home Depot right on Carefree Rd about three miles before hitting Tom Darlington Rd/Scottsdale Rd intersection.

You could drag the truck down there and leave at either one of those place and it ought to be fine.

It's supposed to rain Friday and Saturday, but be over by Sunday.

This is fine. FR-42 is all granite so this will actually eliminate the dust and give everyone a bit more traction. Your not really going to get any kind of mud out there.

So I'll see everyone Sunday morning. It should be a nice run, even with the rain a day or two before.

Is there any water crossings that would be affected by all the rain on FR-42?

No not really. As long as Sunday is a nice day we should be fine.

I checked out there and the lake has risen. Which has covered the trail. Last month the water section was tolerable but now with all this rain, I seriously doubt we'll get through. Especially with stock trucks.

THIS RUN IS CANCELLED !!!

I will PM everyone.

I have PM'd everyone to let them know the run has been cancelled due to all the rain.

We'll do it again soon when it's drier.

I had a feeling this was not going to go down after all, especially with all the rain we have had. I am quite surprised it the run was still on schedule as of Friday night.

Bummer deal, I had already gone out and bought some stuff for tomorrow.

Hope I can make it to the re-schedule.

Now, what do to do tomorrow?

FWIW, AZ TTORA has 3 trucks stuck out there right now. Basicallythe trail is one big drainage ditch. There is some really bad mud out there. The areas that are usually under water by the lake are very deep and the mud is bad.

We were going to have to drive bottom of the door deep in the lake, but now with this rain, it's too deep for the stockers. Maybe even for me as well. Lonfield would probably make it, but I don't want to chance anyone hydolocking. It's just not worth it.

So when do you guys want to go again? If it's dry it's fine. We need to find a dry Saturday/Sunday. The weather is still very good and this next time my 4Runner will be there Dana 44 and all. It drives Monday.

So vote for Sat or Sun.

Feb has alot fo rain but March is a good month. Maybe we can slot 2-3 runs for march. I have not been to the Coke Ovens in years, I'm up for that one. Crown King is always a winner.

If anyone knows "EloiAZ" let him know the run is off. I PM'd him and e-mailed him.

He has not picked up the PM yet.

Does anyone have any ideas for runs? I bet everyone could do Sunflower Mine.

Steve, Saturdays just do not work for me at all. I really prefer Sundays for runs.

Next weekend, we will be up the road a bit past Seven Springs doing Javalina hunt. I am beginning to get concerned because it is forecasted to rain next weekend too. There are a good number of wash passes going up to the Seven Springs campground.

Coke Ovens sounds fun and I think suitable for stock vehicles as well as Crown King.

I have no idea about Sunflower Mine.

What to do tomorrow?

I wonder if that Rock Crawling event out in Globe was canceled?

What to do tomorrow?

I guess I'll have to pass on the next run if its next weekend.:-(

I'll be busy with a CB radio specific garage sale next weekend.
Lots of mobile units, base stations and accesorries for sale and a opportunity to meet some really nice people. If anyone is interested in attending send me an e mail for the address and directions.

Well if anyone wants to do something next w/e let me know soon and I won't tear my truck apart. Then I work the next w/e but the March schedule isn't in yet (even tho it should be) so I could probably still make a request if need be.

Coke Ovens, Crown King (snow?), and Sunflower all sound good to me. How about Edwards Park, the old road up Mt. Ord. or the Bluebird Mine/Sibley Mansion?

It is forecasted to rain next weekend so next weekend might not the best idea. Adding to the fact that I really will not be able to attend since I'll be hunting.

In effect, how about two weekends from this weekend?

That would be the weekend of the 26th.

I am still down for a Sunday run, sorry to all those who favor Saturday runs.

I was reading about the Coke Ovens and it sounds like an exciting trail for a stock rig. Crown King I've done before although it would not hurt to do it again. Never have heard about Sunflower Mine or the others you mentioned, Mike.

The Coke Ovens run is fun, but good luck on the water crossing if you go home that way. I can only imagine how deep that crossing is right now (or in a couple weeks for that matter). I did the crossing when the water was "low" and the initial entry was up to my headlights (stock 98 Taco TRD).

If I am not mistaken, there are a couple of ways out of there though, including the way in. I am sure Steve knows them.

The last time I was there 3 lifted Chevs were stuck in 3ft of mud on one of the alternate routes out. We pulled up to see if we could help, but they were a 1/4 mile in and in their underwear (covered in mud).

I don't cross the river at the Coke Ovens, I always take Battle Axe road out. That way it's a loop, you start in Florence and end in Superior.

We could have dinner at that good Mexican food place in Superior.
