I'll add the few pics I took to the album linked in my sig below.
But it isn't very many, so we will have to get some new ones. Especially since my lift is ordered and on it's way soon!!!

If you have any way of describing where this area is, I'd be interested in hearing (so I can visit it sometime). Is it near the Calcite Mine? I know there are some free-for-all areas around there to the east and the south.

Also, I would like one of you guys who attended to do a little write-up with things like, what time you headed out on Saturday, what trails you covered, anything that was impressive/eventful, how the weather was (looks sunny), how many vehicles there were ... all that sort of stuff. (Did someone already post this and I missed it?) Did you anyone get over to The Squeeze? How many people did The Slot, did they walk the narrow canyon at the end, and did anyone make it back up the sand hill?

There were alot of people-vehicles, they drove all night around the camp and on the sand hill.

Fri: Fear took us on a small tour of the camp area and up Blow Sand.

Sat: We left at like 9:00am and did the power line road, looked at the mud pots and then headed to the mystery trail in Truckhaven. Stopped at a huge overlook and took the sand washed back to camp. That was enough. We were tired.

Did not make it to the squeeze or the slot. I thought the place was a Zoo.

Sun: Drove back to Arizona.

Sounds like it was mostly organized.

Would a stock 4x4 Tacoma, TRD, have been able to join in the reindeer games?

Sure as long as you had a rear locker.

That's Ocotilla Wells all right! I never camp there. I don't know how you'd get any sleep. (Sometimes it'd be hard to breath with all the dust.)

Font's Point? A very cool spot.

It takes a long time to get around Anza Borrego. It's a very big area.

Next time you'll want to check out the Calcite Mine road.

If Fear was leading, I take it monkeynuts couldn't make it? (I haven't read this whole thread.)

Sweet. Next time a trip is planned I hope I have the time. The TRD is equipped with a rear locker. To tackle this area what other basics are necessary? Rock sliders, skid plates, lift, etc.

Sliders on the one trail in the truckhaven area but everything else you would be fine.

the area of truckhaven we did was one of those "free-for-alls" that you said. it was marked by a pile of rocks on the 78. just drove around off the pavement until dave found a spot to drop into a TIGHT, rocky canyon, full of switchbacks and the most rock i've seen in anza borrego. on the north side of the 78. the area was labeled truckhaven rocks on my map.

i tracked it on my gps, but i have to find a way to seperate it from the before and after breadcrumbs (forgot to reset my tracklog). i'll post it as soon as i get a break in the studying here.

hey scott marc and rob et al,
sorry i missed this one i lost my clutch on thursday and then with all the fire activity i've been busy trying to help friends. want to hear about a rough time. i was supposed to try to go up to lake arrowhead. my pops lost his house so we were going to hang out and kick debris around and probably get sh*&faced. he calls me last night from the hospital he was trying to move a downed tree (He was sneaking in using backroads) well the tree rolled over and hit him so hard it broke his arm in two places. i thought that i was just going to have to get a couple of twelve packs now it looks like i'm going to need at least a case. hope your weeks better. i got a fresh clutch and some time off soon so soon as this mess is over I will NEED some desert time. see you guys soon

I'd appreciate that. Anza Boreggo is beautiful country, but not much of it is truly difficult.
