4x4 trail books for Colorado

I'm going to be heading to Colorado the first week in July to do some camping and wheeling. I'm in search of a good 4x4 trail book for Colorado. Specifically central Colorado (if that matters). A book about trails in the whole state would be great also. Anybody have a good book or know of any that would help me out. Thanks.

We are going too.
This is what I have for N. CA, So. CA, AZ & CO. BACKCOUNTRY ADVENTURES

I have not used the CO version yet. We leave on Sunday.
CheckTHIS THREAD for the advise others gave me.

When, exactly are you going and where are you planning to be? Perhaps we can meet?

This is the book you want. Covers almost every trail south of I-70 and west of I-25 except some of the real nasty ones that have come out recently. There is also a Vol. 2 but that covers mostly northern Colorado (north of I-70).

And, if I may say so, Darren has the BEST info of all at:

I've got both the Well's books, they've been very helpful too- you should be able to get them at any Barnes & Noble store.

I rented a

j :walk::walk: p

last year- It felt like I had both hands and a foot tied behind my back. This Sept, I'm dragin' the trail rig up to have more fun.

enjoy!

SkyRat - It sounds like we will just be missing each other. I'm not heading out until Monday, July 5th - Friday July 9th. Let me know if you find some good trails not to be missed. I'll check out that book

I have that same book, "Guide to Backroads and 4-wheel Drive Trails", for Arizona and it is great. I didn't realize they had them for other states. I'll check it out too.

Thanks for the help.

The Massey and Wilson book is mostly easy stuff. Their target audience is people who are hesitant to take their shiny SUV off the pavement.

Get the Chuck Wells books.
