I agree! Part of your negotiations should be to leave after our trip to Tellico. It just won't be the same without ya!

On the other hand I hope it takes awhile for everything to happen so you can still make it to Tellico with us, it would be a shame to miss out on one last wheel'n trip with all of us.
We shall see what happens - it may be an offer that I can't refuse.
I am 47 years old and 15 years from retirement - ( damn I can't believe I said that ) I could do it for a number of years and then come home to Tennessee. As far as the Tellico trip - I can dictate that - I already have 5 weeks vacation a year and have been with this company 23 years.
I have bargaining power !

Leaving my property, family and Tennessee will cost them if I am the man for the job ! Oh and my house and land are NOT for sale.

Smart man!
As someone that moved south I can attest that an adjustment to a hotter climate CAN be made, especially if the $ are there. And you can always move back at retirement, like you said. Who knows -- you might end up with a place in FL and one in TN, for different seasons -- the best of both worlds! And Florida is one heckova great place to enjoy your boat!

Is this a hint that you have a disco and want to come to Tellico with us? If so I think we'll have to see what the majority says, I'm cool with it, but we'll wait and see what the other 19 people think. In the meantime post us up a pic so we can see what we're working with.

Well, my mods are coming to a screaching halt. My supposed "good" transmission has a bad bearing and all the syncrows are worn out. So there is $600 I didnt plan on spending. The good news is that I already have the
t-case apart and cleaned up (its also got alot of problems). Next is clearancing it for the 4.7 gears. I also picked up the sky cross member from Jeremy last night.
I'll be ready for this trip, just not as modified as I had hoped.

I know the feeling as I've had quite a few "uh-ohs" come up lately with modding...namely my front lopsided bumper, works, but don't look like it shoud...and then there is the interior...all torn apart now....compressor and ARB installation...on and on....

Good luck Will!

I feel youre pain! I've been keeping up with youe progress and regress on here. But in the end it is still cheaper than a payment and mods! He-he At least my can-back is in good shape!

So Doc, if you go are you saying that you're family will stay in TN and you'll be in Florida on your own and seeing them on weekends?

i can sometimes get transmissions cheap, used complete with another tcase for less than 600 possibly. Its not rebuilt but it will work. Dunno specifics unless you want me to make some calls. I have a friend that has his best buddy working at a wrecking yard.

I sure don't mind, I think that anybody that wants to come should come (course i don't really count on the vote as I'm not on the list yet) I have a friend that might want to come w/ a jeep, but both of us doubt that the heep will even make the trip up there, oh well.

To me the only requirement is to be able to driver there and back under your own power. Other than that bring what ya got and lets see what you can do with it.

Really the main reason for keeping it Toyota is so the number of vehicles will be manageable. If everybody invites a buddy with a non-Yota and they invite another and so on, then the crowd gets so big that the ride is no fun b/c they are so many people clogging the trails. This is also why we split into smaller groups and try to keep each group to around 5 vehicles.

Very true Brett, we have one Jeep guy coming so far with Andy(ASUrunner), he asked a long time back. I think we should go ahead and keep it at that, and from here on out keep it Toyota only. As is we're going to be split into about 4 or 5 groups. Trying to get that many rigs all organized in the morning and then atempt a meet at Slickrock to watch the entertainment, cough, Chris, cough. It's going to be a challenge.

In an atempt to keep things semi-organized, here's the list again, if your names not on here and your expecting to come, post up and add yourself on. Please give us a name to go with your s/n as getting there and calling everyone by their YT names is a bit silly, I would rather form a friendship known as Scott and not Stump1883, .

Thanks for the offer but I already have this one being repaired. I would take any used transmission in just to have it inspected by a pro. I do not want to chance something going wrong with it after I put it in. If I put it in I want to be in for a few years.

Well, we're still 2.5+ months out, so you can count on at least 6 if not 8 of those above to have something else come up and have to back out. It should end up in the range of 10-12 rigs...

I thought that this was supposed to be a 4 runner Jam -
and any other Toyota product was welcome.

I don't mind others coming but the clogged trails suck.
