What to look for?

What to look for?
I usually lurk in the other forum for my 84 pickup, however, I need some advice from this forum. I have an opportunity to go and look at a 95 4Runner and need to know what to look for since I'm not quite up to speed on the 95. The ad says it has the following:
3.0L w/ auto tranny
2.5" ToyTech Lift with ProComp es1000 shocks
Complete top end rebuild not long ago (has receipts where he did the work)
New water pump, valve seals, cover seals, etc...
New tranny last November
New front CV Axles, Steering Rack, steering gear box
No oil leaks and no coolant leaks...
It has around 197K on it now. Anything off the top of your heads that I should check out.
Thanks for any input.

I am certainly not the most knowledgable person here, but I would hope the price is really good if it has a 3.0 and an auto. It's a gutless combo and a lot of people here do not like the 3.slow so much. Granted, there are some that say its fine.
Does the top end include timing belt/chain? I would think so, but make sure.
Look really hard for problems... I always wonder why someone would sell something after having all that work done.
Good luck!

Waiting for an answer on the t-chain. He told me he was wanting to get a full size 4x pickup. The runner looks pretty nice. I haven't seen it in person, but hope to either tomorrow or Thursday. This is one of the pics he sent me.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just talked back to the owner. He pulled the complete upper half and totally rebuilt. As he said, if it was able to replaced, it was done. That includes t-chain and everything else.
Thanks,
Chris

$4500? eh...
I cant really say because I'm not there to look at it in person. But still..$4500?... I mean- top end rebuild with receipts, I'll give him that. If there is no rust on the frame and body, then okay... but still. I dont know how much Yota's value for in your area, but up here, even with TOYOTAS being valued higher than lots of places, 4500 is TOPs I would pay for a CLEAN, perfect condition 16 year old 4runner. I have seen lots of 3rd gens going for 4500-6000 in my area....

Thanks toyota4x4... That's where I am right now in my thinking as well. The only spot of rust from what he said and from the pics he sent was on the rear bumper under the chrome. The interior carpet and back seat are in pretty good shape. The front seats have to have seat covers. I looked it up on Edmunds (not that they account for the lift or shocks or any of the engine work at 197K miles and they price it at $3850 retail. That's retail... Private party was around $3k. Kelly Blue Book lists it at $4500 for Private Party in good shape. I am prone to find it somewhere between fair and good because of the seats and bumper. I may see how low he is really willing to go before driving over two hours to see it.

OBO means Or Best Offer. Usually means they put it at a price and expect it to sell for less than they posted, but usually post it for higher price so they can get closer to the price they want. Aaaand that they will take the best offer and should consider all offers given. Some people expect when they say OBO that people will be like "Everyone is goig to offer the 4500 or less, so I will offer 4600" or something like that
