if you can hear it run, and drive it around that's a great deal IMO, only because Toyotas in the northeast are rare/highly valued.

I'd pull the bed off, you can come by a rust free one pretty easily usually out west.

Make sure you once over it VERY WELL....that sprung under rear axle that should be sprung over makes me wonder what kind of engineering the motor swapist did elsewhere on the truck....My only thought it its sprung under to bring the center of gravity down since the trucks a lot faster now.

It looks rough, but I've seen worse stuff shine up nicely (check out my 88 build-up thread). i'd say go for it! The supra swap is always a plus! I've heard good things. Just check it out real well, don't be afraid to walk away

if it runs and drives... buy it quickly. but ask yourself this... how much headache are you willing to deal with?? You will be inheriting someone elses project and God only knows how many shortcuts they did. Will this be a daily driver or a project truck?? I would not use it as a DD just for reliability issues.

If your interested in the truck then go look at it. Make an offer your comfortable with and if something doesnt feel right then walk away

I heard those trucks get 30mpg with those motors in then. I know that doesnt make any sense cause the cars didn't even get that with those motors but people claim it.

Id buy it just because of the cool stuff and its not much $$.

Theirs a rust free bed on craigslist for 250, gonna see what I can get the tcase for and some research

I have a daily. This one would have to be my daily in about 6 to 7 months. Plenty of time specially with the shop I work at being pretty slow until spring

You'd be lucky to see anything over 18-20MPG.
Don't kid yourself.
You'll have your foot on the firewall the entire time so shoot for 12-14MPG.
