buying a tacoma need advice
So I've come to a dilemma. I'm planning on purchasing a Tacoma. I have a few financial and timing questions. I currently have a 90 pickup with a blown head gasket. I have a guy that's gonna fix it for $400 plus the gasket, so between $550 to $600. I haven't decided whether I want to get that fixed now and take more time finding the right taco or if I should just attempt to get a Taco now and take my time on fixing the truck. The trucks not going to go towards a trade in. My brother is going to get it. I want it to stay in the family. My other timing question kinda goes in hand with the first is whether I should wait and pay a bigger down payment and get one that is and 01 to 04 or whether I should just go with the cheaper 98 to 2000. What I'm looking for is 5 speed v6 extended cab and if possible TRD and sr5. My other question is on whether I should try and do financing through my bank which is Navy Federal Credit Union or whether I should do financing through a dealer? Any advice would be appreciated.

Fix what you have and save and think as much as possible. Buy what you want not on a whim what you can afford at the time. Typically your credit union can do good but sometimes dealer incentives can be better, get info from the dealer on the loan and then go to the union with the info and see what they can do to match it. Good luck post up what you do and what you end up getting
