3D Printing Feeler

I wasn't sure where to put this but one of my good friends has started up his own 3D printing venture and can make badges, suspension bushings, interior trim pieces, and pretty much whatever else in 6x6x6" chunks. Here's the link to his work: http://imgur.com/a/sE1u3, let me know if anybody is interested, or where to move this thread. I wasn't quite sure where to put this since he definitely isn't a vendor and this doesn't feel like a classified. Sorry if I wasted any one's time. Thanks guys.

I moved this thread to the Buying & Selling Advice - Feeler/Gauging Interest section of the Member Classifieds.

In regards to your friend's products, if he can make some quality Toyota replica emblems, badges and miscellaneous parts, I would possibly be interested. What kind if cost are we talking here?

Thanks for moving it to the proper section, they range from $10-30 depending on part complexity and how long they take to print. For the time being I live near him and have a 1980 Pickup so he can check out whatever parts are on my truck if you want similar ones and we can get a more accurate quote. Or just let me know what else you would be interested in.

Pretty sweet.
an old-school TEQ logo for a hood ornament would whet a few peoples' appetites.

yeah, the old "TEQ" logo for sure, such that it fits into the spot of the stock logo (or at least covers up the footprint when removed)

also a bunch of 5vz, 3vz, 1uz, 22r/e, 2jz, etc badges for people who do engine swaps

and just standard "TOYOTA" lettering

edit: i see it's a makerbot2. those things are nice.

what filament is he using?

he could always become a vendor through a place like "shapeways" and get some business. vendor here would be smart too if he's serious about it

He uses a bunch of filaments, from the standard gets-slightly-deformable-in-the-sun white plastic, to a harder filament that he is using as suspension bushings on his E46 since it withstands pressures up to 4000psi. He just got a new rubbery one too, but he is still tweaking printing temperatures and rates on that one since its so new. If you guys really want to see a teq logo I'll ask if he can doctor one up soon.
