I'm from Anaheim Hills but often in the Irvine/Tustin/Santa Ana area. (My shop is on the border of the three cities)
Sure wish SoCal 4Roc was more energetic! It would be awesome to set up an OC wheeling group.
Your 1st gen looks awesome! If any of the OC guys want to do a wheelin' trip or need someplace to wrench, drop me a PM or something!

New the scene as well. I live in Garden Grove. Have a 1990 runner 33x12.50 tires limited turning radius for now, looking for a lift on a budget! Anyways always looking for something to do. Want to try this out in some mud!

I only know of one little mud pit out in Holy Jim, but it hasn't rained in a while so it's going to be totally dry.
If you want to buy a kit locally, 4WheelParts is a pretty nice place to go. They have a location in Santa Ana I've been to a few times. Seem like nice enough guys, willing to help out.
Best bet is on line somewhere. I got my few inches of lift from rear blocks and a crank in the front...
