Rear window

Wat up everyone, I'm hoping I can get some help with my rear window. The key function on the tailgate isn't working, I've taken it apart and cleaned it and sprayed it with contact cleaner and still no response. Everything else works and the switch up front works fine but for some reason it won't work with a on the tail gat. It's a 1985 4runner sr5. Any suggestions would be berry much appreciated, thanks

Inspect wires in flex where wires go from body to tailgate.
If that doesn't help, see my thread.

Sorry for the delay response I've been pretty busy. I took a look at the wires and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

You can see outside the wire insulation, but you may not know if copper conductor- the wire itself is good - until you do a continuity check.

.

Check continuity from ground to tailgate key switch to respective pins on connector.

I will have to look further into it. Do you know if the button up front and the key in the rear use the same relay? Also there is a box next to relay behind driver seat not sure what that's for

It's all explained on my post.
Relay next to window relay is for rear window defroster.
