December 2006: Mark Twain Saturday 9th

I'm currently working on the house, so I haven't had time to play with the front driveshaft on the crawler. I have two spares that I think will bolt right on, but they might be a little short. Worked at Disney for a weekend, but running it longterm is pressing my luck. But I do have a couple other Runners that I can wheel with. Stock open/open on 31" Swampers.

Sounds like Cory's playing on Friday the 8th, but I have a job, so that won't work. Anyone up for a Saturday or Sunday trip somewhere? Either the 9th/10th or 16th/17th will work for me.

I've never been to Superlift, so that's on the need to check out list. So who's up for a mall crawler run?

I still don't exactly know my plans for the trip back from St. Louis.

I may decide to spend the night camping out (Cory says he can't do overnight, but I ain't skeert as long as I'm out of sight of the local forest dwellers) and then I could possibly do something Saturday as well.

Other than that, I will be gone the rest of December.

Just come to Tulsa/any town this weekend and have fun pulling people out of the snow.

Local TV reported that by 3 AM this morning, 40+ police vehicles, 9 ambulances, and 1 fire truck had gotten stuck.

When you tow:
a) Tell people "Don't do that again!"
b) Get some photos, or better, do it in front of a TV news crew (like I did).
c)Tell everyone you're going to send b) in to AFV because it cracks you up, they thought they could drive.

So Far...

It's looking good for Friday.

Took me 5.5 hrs to fly (drive speedily) from Tulsa to St Louis, I was at 2 hrs when I passed the Monett exit. So if I leave St Louis around 6 AM I'm guessing I can hit the Monett exit around 9.5 or 10 AM...

OK, I'm sorry guys, but I'm not goina be able to do much on Friday (all day or night) and part of Sat morning. I looked at the calendar today and realized that this trip is this weekend which is the second friday of the month, which means poker night, which means friends comin in, and also means working on the house. Sorry it took me so long to put 1 and 1 together.... Plus it looks like im goina have to run to springfield friday morning to get parts for my new runner, or wait til next week, and i dont wanna do that. I should be open for Sat though....

So Mark Twain... or maybe an afternoon at Disney? Meet there at noon on Saturday? Call it quits at 9pm or so.

I'm going to be running a stock rig... though my tolerance for body damage may be a little higher than everyone elses. So where's all the Tulsa people?

HMM...
Well, I don't play poker... never had the desire to learn, either... board and card games just never did really appeal to me (don't tell Jennifer), probably because I was forced to play board games as a kid.

I didn't bring many carpentry tools (let's see, speedsquare, hammer, screws and such things as fit into a misc. bag of tools that weighs 35lbs). But I wouldn't mind lending a hand on whatever you have to do at the house, and most certainly could tear into a new 4runner (I think I have more mechanic than carpentry tools with me).

So I can help you out on Friday, then go camp out (probably back where we camped out last time), and you guys can try your search and reskew skills and see if you can find me on Saturday.

Hans, what time Saturday were you thinking of showing up? Or were you gonna come up Friday night?
