Cass, AR Oct. 23 - 26
Instead of running down to Cass for Rocktoberfest a group of us are going to go down the weekend before. Since most of us would rather be out on the trails instead of running around chasing the big rigs and watching them break we've decided to do our own thing.
We are posting and emailing everyone and seeing who would be interesting in going down and camping the weekend of October 25 -26. Myself and a couple others are going down that Thursday the 23rd and you are more than welcome to come any of those days. Right now we have a group of 6 rigs going so far. If you would please, post or email me back and let me know if you would be interested in coming down and running some trails with us. Honestly, most of us are still on 33s or 35s so we're not going to run the monster hard 5 rated trails. I personally just like a nice and easy 3 or 4 with some things here and there to climb. Afterall, my Rubicon is still a daily driver
Thanks,
Brad

Here's a map from the Forestry Service:
http://www.fs.fed.us/oonf/ozark/recr...ize_061307.pdf
...and Byrds...
1. Fire Road
2. Behind the Trailer
3. Fire Road
4. Slight Hell
5. Pure Hell
6. Knuckle Buster
7. Rock Creek
8. Down Poor
9. Between the Rocks
10. Stroller Trail
11. Waterfall Hill Climb
12. Ledge Hill Climb
13. EZ Hill Climb
14. Fire Road
15. BIG HILL Trail
16. Valley Trail
17. Big Easy Hill
18. Over and Out
19. Grassy Knoll
20. Back Side Trail
Blue Trails – For a stock type 4x4 vehicle.
Yellow Trails – For a slightly modified 4x4 vehicle, some risk of vehicle damage or personal injury
Orange Trails – For a highly modified 4x4 vehicle, good risk of vehicle damage or personal injury, recovery winch and at least one locking differential suggested
Red Trails – For an extremely modified 4x4 vehicle, very good risk of vehicle damage or personal injury, winch and two locking differentials recommended.
It is recommended that all trail rides be done with a group of two or more vehicles. All trails increase in difficulty at least one level when wet. Map is not to scale, not all trails are marked or graded for difficulty, travel on unmarked trails is at drivers own risk. Trail selection is the responsibility of each driver and should be done according to driver skill and vehicle ability, Byrd’s Adventure Center is not responsible for vehicle damage or personal injury incurred on trails or other obstacles.

I've ran most of the trails before with the 87... so has a buddy of mine, so I think we'll probably be alright. It looks like Gary and I would be good to go as of now. so thats +2 for the rig count...

Locked front and rear on 33's you should be able to do all the oranges, and an occasional red. 7 can be done on 31's pretty easy. Good spotting is required on 2 (probably too narrow for the Cruiser though).

I figure I'd see if I couldn't make a quick turn around on it. If not I guess I'll just keep it but I'd kind of rather build the 85 after I get the 85 up and running good. I was thinking I wanted something that would be good to take on camping trips which sometimes means driving 1-2 hours and while this rig is perfectly capable of that it just wouldn't be much fun for that period of time. I'd kind of rather do a mild lift on lockers front and rear, bumpers front and rear, 33's, winch, cage, sliders, 4.88's and such on the 85. I figure if I did that I'd have a good rig that could drive long distance for camping fairly well and still be very capable off-road. This rig is freaking sweet and fun to drive around town and have everyone stare and I know it would do great on the trail but I'm hoping to go a slighly different rout.

I completely understand... I'm kinda thinking the same route with the cruiser. Its goina be my trail/camping rig. I'm gutting the 87 and going to turn it into a cage, a big block, some big axles and some 40s or 42s.
on a side note... since your thinking about building that 85 with 4.88s... I'll make ya a good deal on the rear 3rd in my 87... 4.88 built by marlin with a detriot. awesome 3rd in great shape.

Well I'm still not sure when I'll be down. I just got a new job with Central EMS (that I plan to work until I get hired on at a Fire Department) looks like I'll be working 24 on and 48 off so I should be able to make it down there sometime no matter what.
