Can I just drive down the train tracks? I grew up there, parents still live around the bend from there.

Awesome guys,
There is alot of momentum building up to this small, but significant event.

I have promoted this event by posting this flyer on windshields of runners I see in parking lots/street/anywhere.

I look forward to meeting many of you and talk shop and plan future offroading trips.

Thanks for your replies, this lets me gage the interest on this 4runner Fest.

All depending on how this event turns out, I have bigger plans for next year.

See you there everyone.

Dax

Need to find some private "free" property to do some trail riding on logging roads, etc. I have lived in Maryland for 6 years now and still don't know the "local" trails.

In PA I knew of a handful of roads near cresson/altoona PA.

Good job on the work you are doing!!!

If the thing I've got planned this Saturday doesn't pan out, I am so there.

I grew up in Ellicott City. This is the big turn around in the middle of Rt. 40. Great hiking back there, especially down around the river banks.

Funny, Antwerpen there in Russell's backyard...

We are looking at approx forty (my guesstimate) 4 Runners (all Gens) attending the event.

Just FYI for those who want to enter the "Best In" competition mention above, have your rig at the event by 12:45pm cause we start judging at 1:00pm right after lunch.

There will be Hot dogs and fixings for all.

Later

Not to threadjack here, but aside from mudding through construction sites where exactly is a good place in the Columbia area to get some 4wd time in?

(I don't feel like driving to Cambridge every time I wanna get dirt on the tires...)

As far as trails, I have had no luck at finding anything around the Balto metro area. Last rail ride I did was in Rausch creek Off Road PArk (1/2 north of Harrisburg).
There is some talk about scheduling a trip to either Paragon (1 hr north of Harrisburg) or George Washington National Park in VA.
I guess we can talk about it more at the meet, in the mean time look up the locations i just mentioned so youcan get an idea. Also I have pics on my web site about my last off roading trip to RCORP.

Today I have my truck in the shop, they are replacing the Cats, the Sulfur smell is horrible and it boils down to crappy cats. So you guys know I am a bit nervous today, it is never a good thing when the stealership shop works on anything on one's truck. Crap shows up as soon as you drive off the service dept. I can only hope for the best.

Later

It Is Going To Rain On Our Parade

But the meet most go on!

Getting something like this to take off as it has allready is hard work. There will never be a right time to meet, so we have to make it happen.

With that said, I'll be there waiting for you guys and most likely I'll fire up the fireplace in the shelter.

One thing is for sure, our trucks are going to be clean

If you want to know what the weather looks like in that area go to your favorite weather website and type Zip code 21043

It's time to meet

This is the post I have posted on the other Forum T4R.org
__________________________________________________ _______
I have a bit of a Shiraz Wine buzz going on right now, and I am beggining to freak out a bit.
The FN weather is not helping out my current state of mind. I am beginning to have serious doubts that not many of you will show up and it is beginning to worry me a littttlle bit. So please, let me know if you are going to brave the elements and come hang out and at least put a face with a name ( cause I don't want to just stare at the Toyota Dealership guy and the BF goodrich Guy with like 96 hotdogs on the grill).

I am a firm believer that "if you build it they will come" So this goes out to all of you.

I am building it, will you come?

Disclaimer: Again I have a nice wine buzz going on right now.
