The new Moab Resource Management Plan will be finalized by next summer. Depending on how things go, somewhere between 3300 and 3900 miles of EXISTING, DOCUMENTED routes WILL be closed. Keep it closer to 3300 by spending a few minutes reading this post.

The public comment period is open until Friday November 30th!

Your comments will determine how many miles and trails are lost.

A high-up anti-OHV rep boasted that we wouldn't even come close to matching the number of comments they will submit. They are counting on the apathy of 4x4 users to institute these closures in Moab. Don't let them win!

A: Comments need to be substantive! Simple comments like, "please keep the roads open" or "I support OHV recreation" are worthless and will be discarded. Take a few minutes to read through the information provided, and submit your own comments.

Q: Why don't we use an automated "letter writer" online to submit comments?
A: Automatically generated comments are worthless! These comments are counted as ONE comment even if 10,000 people send in the email. The comments need to be personal, unique, and informed.

I have to be honset whats wrong with having to pay to use? Seems that would work for both groups. We have to pay to off road in sedona.

I'm seriouslly not reading all 1500 pages of that crap to get my answer, Im lazy.

 

Do you pay taxes? Yes, you do? Then you have already paid to use the land that YOUR tax dollars are being spent on.

Its public land, owned by the PUBLIC. Paying to use it indicates a private entity, which is wrong.

 

I see your point but it's kinda a trade off. Pay for use or don't even get the option. MY taxes also go to parks but I don't use the swings, they go to buildings I never step foot in. I pay to get into the grand canyon when I know ways to get in for free, I pay to offroad in sedona, I pay to use the picnic grounds around my town, but I'm there, I'm using them. I just think it's better to have the option to pay for use rather then not be able to enjoy these places at all.

PS I'm a disabled veteran and am entitled to free use of any national park but I still pay. Whats a couuple more dollars 1/2 a gallon of fuel?

Done and Done. WE recently had a similar issue trying to close several trials in Tellico OHV near Murphy, NC. One of the largest and most exstensive OHV's in the southeastern part of the country. We had a big letter writing push, and at least got a temporary reprieve. I wrote this letter for you guys also!! Best of luck!!!
