Im in Manchester and go up to Morrisville, VT once a month for National Guard drill. My runner is out of commission at the time with a busted tranny. Ive got plans in the works to do a full roof chop (from the front windshield back) and be able to do a relatively quick swap from the full roof to a roll cage type setup with the changing seasons. When I get the project going, ill post up a build thread and let you guys know whats up!

I have a number of cheap junkyards around my place. I can keep an eye out for you for a trans if you would like.
Just let me know what model trans your looking for.

Im about 5 min from the barracks in Mo-Vegas. Let me know when you come up this way, grab a beer or something.

There is also a pretty good junkyard in Hardwick, Gates Auto Salvage (bout 20 from Morrisville) with 8-10 toyotas in it. Might be worth a call.

My club from time to time does a Pub night in Brattleboro if that's anywhere near you.
We also do a run in Sept. out there as well.
Wish I knew Vermont better. It must be a killer state to wheel in?

Brattleboro is about 3 hours from me. Haha. Im at the top of the state.

Weve got some pretty good wheelin. Most of the class 4s (our unmaintained roads) can be done with 33s. All the good stuffs on private land.

Rattle, the unit is gonna be at Jericho Firing Range for February, but maybe we can do something come march! Ill look up that yard you mentioned and see what they got

Rain, im fairly certain the tranny is a R150F, i could be wrong though, I havent looked much into what it is cuz im seriously thinking of doing a diesel swap and running a 4BDT1 with an FJ62 A440 transmission behind it. Kind of a pipedream, but who knows, it could happen! If you see or hear of any R15oF's though, let me know, I may still just replace the transmission. any contact info for those yards?

Thanks for the info! I found a couple transmissions on craigslist for 150 a piece that Im going to pick up. Once I get that in there and get rolling again, Im gonna put an aussie locker in the rear and a PowerTrax limited slip in the front. I looked at locking the front too, but from all the research I did, it seemed that cracked casings and thrown cv's didnt make locking it such a wise investment. Did a little more reading and setteled on the limited slip with beefier cv's (T-100). If those break ill have the stocks to throw on if need be.

That sounds like a pretty good plan. I have a buddy with a taco locked front and rear and he was blowing a CV every time we went out, then he finally grenaded the locker.
