I am thrilled.
I have not had a new vehicle since I bought my old '90 truck brand new in '90.
I would probably still have it if it had not gotten totaled.

I just thought of something.
YotaTech would not be here if my truck had not gotten totaled.

1. Bought the '91 4Runner in '98 to replace the truck.
2. Found VMag with a Google search for 4Runner info.
3. Went to 4x4 Wire's forum and got the SUV forum started up there after disliking VMags open/no reg style forum.
4. Chris & I branched out from 4x4 Wire and started up this forum as an experiment.
5. I would never have met Chris if I was still driving the old truck.

Funny how fate works

Hopefully I will be able to keep the FJ in good enough shape when I retire from Boeing in about 13 years.

Dealer I talked to only wants $500 for an order and maybe by summer it would come in and it depends on where I am @ with my truck too.

I think that was about the response the 4th Gen got at rollout in Nov. 2002, and may still if another poll were conducted today. Toyota subsequently tripled 4Runner sales comparing 2002 3rd Gen to latest sales volume.

We won't have anything to compare FJ to in the Toyota lineup, so I'll be watching Xterra, H3 and Jeep sales for any impact. I don't think they'll cannibalize 4Runner much or at all. If anything, FJ shoppers may find it too specialized and migrate to 4R.

Cool, a brief history of YotaTech. Don't total anything else, we need you here.

Yeah, keep up the Corey Cable on your FJ and you can trade it in on the 2020 levitating fuel cell FJ.

I'm really considering buying an FJ. I really like the feel, look, power, sound... everything... I'd change the bumper to a tube style bumper I think though... or a TJM T-17. The stocker is a little big for my taste.

Depends on the test drive- if it rides as well as it looks, count me in. As soon as my Range Rover sells I'll order one- in silver, with brush guard, roof rack, tow hitch, aluminum wheels, and cruise control.

Definatly a Scottsdale thing... We went to Larry Miller in Peoria today as my Dad is going to buy one. They had 3, 1 they had just sold when we pulled up. We test drove a 6 spd, yellow one and Im quite impressed. It does have a blind spot but no biggy. The Yellow one we test drove was pretty loaded, roof rack, rock rails, TRD Exhaust etc... they had it marked 5k over invoice and then we got down to numbers and they gave us 1k over invoice.... we couldve walked out of there writing a check for 30K OTD and they wouldve taken it... But my Dad has a deposit on one in Texas therefore we opted to just wait til they get the one in Texas. I'll post pics when he gets it, their awesome!

To tell the truth, I think it looks alright for a newer rig. I love the way it manuvers while offroad, but it just doesn't get me as excited as sitting in an older truck.

i kind lf like they way it looks. its different than what toyota is used to doing. i really want to see it lifted with some bigger more aggressive tires on it. i think that would look great...

I have been debating if I should get one or not but I think I'll hold off for now. Test drove one though and I love it!
