Just one more question for you Corey, now when you meant be weary of some caps because they dont seal right or vent right are you meaning the ones on ebay or anybody saying fj cruiser locking cap? Because I did see one on ebay which they are calling it fj cruiser locking gas cap. I know the best thing to do is go with the one you are using, I just want to make sure I know what I'm talking about when I tell my friends. Again thank you.

I just checked out the website both, they dont ship out of U.S., well I'm out of luck. I emailed a toyota dealer here in Canada, I will see what they say and see if I cant get the tacoma gas cap here, one would think I would but you never know.

I have been told to stay away from the EBay ones.
Most may not seal right, and they also rip you off on shipping.

There is another source you can look into, TRD Parts 4U should have them.

Both above are the same outfit, and Phil the manager there goes by strap22 on the forum here.

You can PM him to see if they ship to Canada or not.

You have to get them from an auto parts store.

Unless Toyota has their own for the 2004 Tacoma, then it should work.

Mine has been on since July 24th day one, no snafus.
Actually American Toyota in Albuquerque sells them in in their parts dept.

Saw them today and will get on tomorrow!

What is up with that?
Nothing. If a theif wants your gas, he will pry it open and do lots of $$$ in damage to the body. Add a locking gas cap, just dont go cheap or you will have a couple of codes, ie P0441, 0442, 0446 from a large evap leak!

Any particular brands or styles to get or avoid? Any in the Toyota parts system interchangeable?

BTW, I had a Starlet too. Fun little buggah, until a friend's son wrapped it around a pole (he walked away).
