Driver seat doesn't stay up?

Has anyone had a problem with the driver's seat no staying up? Took mine on a road trip recently and about every 100 miles had to jack the seat back up. I only weight 192 so I don't think it is my weight. I am a newbie to FJ's so please be kind.

Never had that problem with mine, and I have had it since July of 2006.
I would take it by a dealer and have them check it out.

Thanks Corey. Did look at the thread you sent me. Seems hit or miss.

Thanks again.

Theres actually a TSB for that. Your dealer should fix it.

its reffered to "sinking seat syndrome"...pretty common up to 09 fj cruisers.
i had a 07 with 60k miles last year....my seat pump was fine.
every 2-3 mths i had to pump the handle 1 time.
as stated toyota has a tsb on it.

Got it fixed at the Toyota dealership free of charge (thanks to the TSB). However in the process they damaged my stearing wheel and now have to fix that.

Thanks to all for the help.

Kind

No need to be kind it is a real problem. Im on my third FJ. Previous 2007 and 2010. Current 2014. The 2007 had the sinking seat. The 2010 did not. The 2014 does. Pain in the butt. I complained about the condition with the 2007. Will now complain about the 2014. There must be a fix as the number of complaints about this condition are legion if this and other sites are an indication. Toyota can't continue to overlook this defect and maintain its reputation so everyone should point out the defect to their service advisor.
