center console switches
#1
My wife has a 2007 FJ. I installed some PIAA lights and ran the switch inside. I want to place the switch in one of the unused spots in the bottom of the center console to the left of the AUX input. How do I get this panel off to run the wiring for the switch?

Mine popped right out. Use a thin blade or case knive. I actually used the black plate to the left of the steering wheel for my Hella switch. Out of the way...easy to reach...and the steering wheel blocks the blinding green light from the rocker switch.

Instead of trying to fish the wires into that location you could do the following to remove the console.
Start by popping of the little piece by the e-brake.

Remove the 4WD shift knob.

Pull up here to remove the upper part of the center console.

Remove the 4 10mm bolts that hold the lower section in place and jimmy around until you get it out

After that is removed there will be 2 more 10mm bolts that hold the center section in below the radio. Since my cb is installed I didn't remove it for these pictures.
Passenger side.

Drivers side

Then pop out the little inserts on both the driver and passenger side. Use something to pop the centers in on them and they come out.

After that the whole center section pulls down and you can get to the inserts and pull any wiring through fairly easily.
Hope it helps.
