I can't find any FJ's within a 300 miles radius that are under 20K. (Except for salve titles)

I'm looking for 4x4, upgrade 2 package, auto trans, with under 40k and I'm just not having any luck.

Are dealers more willing to haggle if you have cash up front? Or are they more willing if you want to finance?

When I was a salesman for Toyota here locally, they were a little more willing to budge when paying with cash.
These days they're going to be so glad to be making a sale I can imagine it's even more the case now.

I would recommend trying to find a Certified Toyota, more expensive but they've got a 100k mile warranty with it from Toyota.
You can't beat that.

I would look at dealing with the Fleet sales guy at the local dealership.I worked for a toyota dealership for a little while and if you were buying a car the best deals were thru the Fleet sales guy. They are used to selling the cars for just a few hundred over invoice, their invoice not MSRP.

honestly... think about these factors:

2007 FJ's with 20K+ mi are going for $20K+
factory warranty = 36K mi - 20K = 16K mi left for you....

2008 FJ leftover with 0 mi are going for $24K ($3000 rebate)
Full warranty, a new vehicle, for about $4K difference.

Interest on a used car loan..... nowhere near as low as a new car loan - adds up to $$$$$ over the life!

THAT's why i bought a new one..

Fleet FJ - almost got one of those... ever rent a 4x4? What do you think some people do when they rent one for a weekend???? I looked at an 07 with 20K on it for $19K out the door, extended warranty etc till i found out it went through out of state auction 2x, 30 days apart and came from a rental fleet.... Again for $5000 difference why would I buy used???

I got mine for $300 over dealer invoice.... thats fair enuf for me. Now maybe in your area there's more demand - but i doubt it.
I paid $500 for transport dealer trade costs to get exactly what i wanted from another dealer 600mi away...
