Thumbs down for Sway Away T-bars

I started a T100 build about 2 years ago, did a 2 inch body lift, Trail Master IFS lift, wheels and tires and so on. Before the Trail Master set-up I had ball joint spacers and Sway Away torsion bars for a mild lift , had them cranked up . The ride was very stiff , that when I decided to put the Trail Master lift in to get lift without having to crank the T bars for lift. I completed the lift back in may and after un cranking the Sway Away bars they still rode like crap. I have put the factory T bars back in and its much better. Had to put the front sway bar back on , that was the only good thing about the sway away T bars was there you didnt need the front sway bar.

Even after un cranking the Sway away torsion bars all the down, the ride was thumbs down.

THanks for sharing.

Why do you "have" to run the front sway bar?

They probably would have ran smoother if you had more weight in the front.

I'm guessing since the Sway-A-Ways have a higher spring rate, he had less body roll than he now has with Stock Torsion Bars. So he put the Sway Bar back on.

Also with the lift and the body having a higher center of gravity there is more body roll in the truns, thats why I re-installed it .

Well noah, I guess the answer to your question is that you don't have to use the front sway bar (actually the only sway bar T100s don't have a rear one). I had mine off for about a year, it helps your wheel travel off road, but makes the truck a little loose/unstable on pavement, especially at highway speeds. If your truck is just a trail rig then I would say doing away with the sway bar is not a bad idea, but if you use it as a daily driver at all then probably best to have it.
