T100 Where dose this wire plug in?
I have a 1997 T100 of unknown history with 275,000 miles. It is a V6 4WD automatic transmission. Sometimes, it is hard to start when cold but always ran well after it started. I decided to change the spark plugs and purchased the OEM Denso twin electrode plugs. The plug wires were very difficult to remove. In fact, I had to use pliers to get them off. Once I changed the plugs, the truck ran poorly. I decided I must have damaged a wire trying to get them off so I replaced the three wires and the 3 boots under the coils. Still, the truck has a significant miss. In looking around, I find a wire hanging under my truck. It originates in the wire bundle which comes over the alternator and then travels towards the firewall until it passes the dipstick. Then, it drops downwards. In the bundle which goes downwards, there is a connector where the wire originates. I suppose it's about 18-20" long but I didn't measure it. The opposite end is what I found hanging under the truck. It has a connector and I have no clue where it goes. Hopefully, when it's plugged in, it will fix my poorly running truck. If you could send me a picture of where it plugs in I would appreciate it.

If someone could send me a picture of the area in the engine compartment between the dipstick and the drivers side wheel well it would be helpful. I should be able to see this wire coming off a larger black harness and hopefully be able to see where it goes. Thanks

I truly appreciate your reply. It has really surprised me that over 200 have looked at this and no one has had an answer. I thought it would be simple for a T100 owner with the 3.4 engine to send me a picture or tell me where the wire goes. With that said, I don't think this wire goes to the alternator. For a bit of clarification, I attached another picture. You can see a wire that goes to the alternator. Behind that, you can see where the mystery wire begins.from a connector on a black wring harness. I took the other end of the mystery wire and laid it on top of the alternator so it would be in the picture. Thanks again for trying to help.

Do you have ABS? On the 96 4Runner it sits on top of the frame in front of the coil bucket thingy. Your pic reminds me of the truck side of that connector.
I don't have them any more so can't look....the front turn signal connectors looked like that too, iirc.

I’ll try and get some better ones after work today. Is it 1 wire or 2 wires. If just 1 I think it’s gonna be that ground connection, but it looks like 2 so if it’s 2 wires I think it’s gonna be the add plug coming from your front diff
