Hey all, I'm having some problems with consistently starting my truck. I have a year old battery and just replaced the copper contacts in my starter motor which I read about on here. Only a mild improvement after that.

What I'm experiencing;

First start every day; perfect. This is even with me draining the battery (a little) at night with the radio on, dome light, and charging my phone for a little bit once the truck is off. This fact alone makes me believe it's not a battery issue.

She also starts perfectly if I restart her within ~20 minutes of turning it off (ie. going into a store)

After 30 minutes and up until 8 hours later she doesn't want to start. I crank for 3-5 seconds while giving a little gas and that's the only way to get her going.

What's going on?! I don't want to speculate and show my naivete so I'll leave that to you guys.

 

Temp related? Eliminate doubt on temp senders by cleaning and testing them. Basic maintenance procedure.
