has anyone tried this chip to see if it works? If you have tried one let me know your thoughts! it seems to have alot of options for an early engine management system! I like the extra monitoring its stated to do at least.

Tried the search engine and didnt see anything on this?

JET Performance #561-67030

found this on jegs site let me know your thoughts! I'm sure it wont add much to my truck but it looks interesting at the least!

i havent used it but have heard its a waste of money. on out motors its not the ecu thats the limiting factor, its the short valve duration and breathing. in my opinion if you want more power get some weezy cams, headers, and a good intrake you wont be disapointed

I looked into the cams but weezy is out of business. working on a custom set of headers now actually as I bought a spare parts motor when I did the rebuild. truck runs great but I use a truck so a lil more would be good. plus better mileage is always a plus lol. I'm getting 20-21 now if Im just driving.

what type of intake do you use? found some old threads on them but most were not for the T100 if any?

I'll be building a custom one soon I imagine just gotta get done with my wifes nissan pathfinder clutch first lol.

I do wish I'd known about the oversize valves when I had the heads rebuilt! I'll have to check the builder is a Toyota fan himself so he may have already do that. he did great work!

If I had it to do over again I would have put in a 4.3 vortec though.

Weasy just sold the cams, if you call www.coltcams.com directly they will sell you the cams.

if you want to tune it, get an SMT6/7 and a wideband AF sensor...

ok thanks. not looking to go that deep in themotor as I just got out of it right now though.

what type of tuning are you able to do with that? (yep I'm plugging it into the search engie on YT right now though I'm sure I'll have more questions lol).

I'm used to cummins diesel tuning and carburators so computer gas stuff is neww to me

Search, my friend.

Short answer to your question, they provide no performance increase, especially for the money. In terms of computers, the ECU running the 3.slo is completely un-tunable.

It was a poor design, all 'round, rushed to market just to say Toyota has a V6.

i dont see what it would help? with 35's and 5.29's in any gear, i could go from 1k rpm to redline in a matter of seconds (maybe 3 or 4)so power isnt the problem. what would help though is a higher redline, and i dont care what you tell me, theres no way im gonna belive a computer can make my rods stronger

id play around with gear ratio's and tires sizes first, and maybe get a cold air intake etc. to help stay in the power band.

and keep in mind, its not all about the h.p, but more about the gear ratios in your tranny, tcase, and diffs.

i could have a 800hp motor, but without the right gear combo it defeats the rpurpose

Yes I know that. Hence the reason my 550hp?956 ft-lb dodge that I had used 3.55's with the 5 speed and 32 in tires. because it had massive torque and could pull a mountain(well 56K gvw anyhow lol) at 70mph+ without working much.

the reason I asked this question is because I could use a little more out of the truck when pulling my 2 horse trailer loaded.

It handles it well now. but who doesnt like a little more? plus lower gears would slow my highway speed and/or kill my mileage.

Should have done the Vortec swap

I wouldn't pull 2 horses (unless they are carosel or minis) with a T100.
Thought the tow rating was 3500 on a T100.

lol I agree its not the best idea but it does handle the load quite well considering what it is.

I'm not going very far though when I do haul them and take my time. plus were I live now there is vertually NO hills(western Missouri) so I dont have to work it hard.

Blake you read my mind! I'm wanting a SAS 44 up front with a allison backed cummins 3.9 though. I'm familiar with those motors and always wanted one!

Just need cash for that though lol. I'm looking at around 4-5K to do what I want to it eventually.

For the amount of work to shoehorn a Cummins into a Toyota and the inherent upgrades you're going to need to do, why not just buy a Dodge with one in it? I'm sure the headache wouldn't justify the result.

Easy swap for your T100 is the 3.4, especially if you find a supercharged one.

My two cents, though.

I have been looking into that motor as well lol. I have found a couple NPR trucks for around 1200-2000 bucks but both had head issues. the one was off the motor and was bad and the pic had it outside so total rebuild.

They are lighter so Iono I might go that way. havent been able to find much in the aftermarket for them though.

Which is the nice thing about a cummins I can go any route I desire!

Well mostly because I've had a full size dodge and it was a good truck and a beast but the best I could get out of a full size dually 4X4 for mileage was around 20 mpg. which yes is awesome for what it was.

But I dont need a truck that big right now.

And to get the 4BTa to run is super easy as it requires almost no wiring to run. yea alot of drivetrain upgrades. Also will get around 30+ mpg in the setup I would want.

And just because It would be the only one around! "Its not what you buy its what you build"!

I wouldnt mind a 3.4 swap exspecially with a supercharger! but then I would get very little inprovement in mileage. and I drive ALOT. unfortunately I have to have a truck to haul tools (a car wont cut it I'm afraid I've tried it).
