Sorry about the pics. Ill repost them latter to night. dont have them with me. As for the tires, slight bit of rub on mud flaps. other wise they are fine. hold tight.

 

Nice, that means I can upsize to 33x12.5 if I hit the pinch weld and get some good backspaced wheels and a slight lift. Thanks Cant wait to see the pics!

 

ok guys. lets try this again. CJM my size is actually 265/70/r17 which my paper said is only 10.5 in. wide. sorry if I mislead you. but in any case they still don't rub except on the mudflaps. Thnks rocko for the help

 

Your welcome. Thats a pretty good looking rig. Those tires, 265/70/R17's are about 31.6 inches tall, and 10.4 inches across.

Don't worry, most manufacturers do the same, except much worse.

 

DEfinitely, froggy you rounded like .1 inch, most mfe's round WAY up, anywhere from a 31.4 to 32 might be called a 32, and I've even seen claimed 33's only be measured at 31.8 inches. (I'll keep all brand names to myself - no need to flame them here)

 

yea I noticed that to. had the truck apsrt last night to weld the axle housing up again. This time I had a guy tig weld it for me. I hope it will stop the leak. was cracked around the spring perch. Anyone ever done CV boots or know where to get beefy shafts? What lift kits? I don't want blocks in the rear but not sure if I can get a kit like that. also, whats your opinion on the wheels with out hubcaps? stock ones dont fit with the hub up front.

 

I have been working very hard researching what we need to achieve a mild lift. The only kits around all raise it 4" and put strain on the cv's and they cost extra if you want a rear leaf pack and not a bad block.

I came up with the following, which adds overall about 2" lift and will allow for 33x12.5x15 tires if you hit the inner pinch weld in the front with a hammer and maybe grind the upper control arm a bit (dont know about the CA for now). Remember to lift only as much as needed, you dont need a 6" lift really as evidenced by this guy: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/hottoy/west/

Front
1. 4Crawler 1.5" ball joint spacers for the front
2. May need a differential drop bracket for the front, but I doubt it.

Rear
1. Deaver Racing 1.5" Lift Progressive Add A Leaf Kit: 190.00 Replaces factory overload with a 3 leaf progressive add a leaf kit. Includes U-bolts. http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/donahoetundra.htm Get 6.75” u bolts since your not using blocks. I have confirmation that another guy on 4x4 wire is running this pack andhe said it bolts right in with no problems.

That total lift will gain you enough room to fit the tires if you get the correct backspacing. I am unsure right now if I will need a 1/2-1" body lift from 4Crawler as well, but it is a possibility. You will also want to get longer brake lines for the front and rear too.

Overall the whole thing installed by yourself will be about 500 bucks with all the parts and such. Dont forget you will want new shocks, I have my eye on the bilstein HD shocks, they should be long enough to compensate for thelift with ease.

Course if you wanna go higher a 1-2" body lift and some longer shackles in the rear from 4Crawler will achive more lift.
