Help! Squirrels!

OK, I had a nest of squirrels in my 94 T100 4wd reg cab auto. They are all gone now, they were nesting in fan behind the glove compartment.

Now I'm not getting air/fan/heat out of my vents. I cleaned the vents out I believe, blew them out with my leaf blower, air flows well. Fan turns on well also.

Where is the fresh air vent located on this truck? I noticed before that a baby squirrel would go under my truck and disappear, that's how I found the squirrel nest. Do you think they packed the fresh air vent with leaves? How do I clean that out? How do I find that vent? Where is it located? I crawl under and can't find anything that looks vent like. Help. plus when I turn on the fan for awhile it smells like burnt hair so I need to clean this out before it gets too hot this summer. Thanks for any help. Please email venting diagram if you have it.

Check the cowl lid between the hood and the windshield as I believe the fresh air is drawn in through there. It would not be prudent to draw air out from the under side of the vehicle.

Maybe the squirrels have gnawed a hole in the fender liner and cut their way through there...

Ah I hate squirrels! They had a nice little nest in our jaguar, right between the Y of the engine!!!

I'm guessing they packed every passage way they could with nuts and such....but I think that cowl is the air intake for for the vent system. Might be a nasty project, but good luck!

I finally got rid of the damn squirrels. They were in the blower and the heater core. The thing was packed full of leaves. A pain in the neck(literally) to take all this stuff out, it was everywhere, leaves, grass, poop, etc.. Here are some pics.

More than likely was one of those Red Jimmy squirrels/ Too tough to clean and very little meat to bother with (almost chipmonk). They can get in anywhere and do a lot of damage fast. I would suggest moth-balls, and lots of them. You have an environment that supports them...remove that first (or try).

It was a packrat in my '97 T100. It stuffed the fan and air ducts under the dashboard full of crab apples from the tree next to where the truck is usually parked. I too am baffled how the darn thing got in there.

Over a period of two weeks, the varmit also packed crab apples into about every nook and cranny under the hood. Thank God it didn't chew things up while it was in there... I spent hours looking for damage.

A couple of years ago another one chewed completely through a heavy duty 12 gauge power cord in my garage... insulation, three strands of copper wires, everything. I hate pack rats.
