Anyone have Issues With Power Doors/Locks?

First the power door locks stopped working, then a few months later the power windows are not working. The Chilton's manual says to check a fuse, but does not tell you where the fuse is. The fuse box covers also does not say anything about power windows or locks under the kickplate or engine compartment. Any ideas??

I could be wrong but I don't believe they are on a fuse..If they are not working it is a bad switch...In the manual it tells you how to trouble shoot it to determine if the switch is bad,,,

That same book that says how to diagnose the switch, says to check the fuse. I imagine it is indeed the switch but I don't have a circuit tester to know for sure.

Haynes Manual Pg. 12-18 Para 25 Section 6 says to check the fuse. There is indeed a fuse way up in the kick panel area, I took a look thru the viewport and the fuse seems fine. A while back I had some body work done on the drivers side fender, corner, I wonder if something worked loose??? I ordered the swtiches any way from Toyota, but I get the feeling that is not the problem, at least I can rule it out.

I have a slightly different problem. Although my power door locks/windows work, the door locks barely work. I have to hit the button 2 or 3 times, sometimes even do it by hand. It seems as if the motor is going bad?

And although my windows work, they are much slower than they used to be. Is it normal for the motors to get this much wear in under 10 years?

Have any of you replaced them do to these problems?

I pulled the switch apart and it seems like the contacts on it have been burnt. Might be a good guess that the switch needs replacing. Also, I tend to think the windows do go up and down slower as they age. It's happening on my 91 MR2, 95 Corolla and the 97 T100.
