85 4wd PU 4 cyl wont start. ran fine 5 days ago. starter went out after hard landing. replaced starter charged batt. installed new batt. cables. coil is producing elec. rotor looks ok. distrib contacts a little pitted but seems servicable. now I have plenty of crank but no start. any help greatly appreciated. thanks, Paulo.

 

Which engine? 22R or 22RE?

 

22r. Further testing has revealed that spark is weak but appears to have current from coil to distributor. Still need to check whether disty is actually spinnning. Also need to check on fuel pressure, but will not start on wd-40 or gasoline going striaght to carb (no starter fluid handy).

 

Rolled the truck out of the garage yesterday to make space and left it overnight... bad idea. Battery froze at 15 below. Now need new battery before proceeding, this is getting old and expensive.
